I thought it was general knowledge Point du Hoc only contained telephone pole guns and that the battery had been moved inland.

Still good the Rangers were up there to secure the points use for enfilading fire along the entire landing beach by German machine gunners.

It had to be taken by someone.

Regards the stolen valor guy - WTF? Sounds like he served honorably isnt that enough?

I think it likely the guy in my article is confused or people that dont know history misunderstood his history, started a ball rolling and now he has to live it.

Fighting in Italy was about as bad as fighting got anywhere. Shame that just because it wasnt "glamorous" its seen as not worthy.

If The Germans would have attacked Baston from all sides they would have won. But they instead were probing for weak spots allowing the Airborne to keep shifting their limited artillery.

Sometimes it sure seems that good will overcome evil.
