I have been on a "colored" music kick for quite a while. I can only imagine in the late 40's or 50's being somewhere all alone tuning your radio to a static filled station and listening to things like this.
And it is good music. That is the thing, it is actually good. When you think about music today it is just so much garbage. I am aware many would have thought this was pure trash back in the day. But if you listen to the music, how it is arranged, it is flowing.

I had that when I had a really long commute, now it is "only" about an hour one way. I listen to podcasts now. I bet I have not done over the air radio in years. That said I have a play list of songs on my phone. Quite often my phone will say no network connection or something to that effect, and the streaming music will stop. Well crap, guess it is radio. Turn that on in the shop, and it is the same 10 songs they played 10 years ago. Yea classic rock, but you know there are other things out there then the most popular ones. Play the "B" side once and a while.

every song , and in every musical genres ever made anywhere if it makes people smile , happy or nostalgic it would not be alowed to be made today . in essance anything worth listening to would never be able to be made to day pop and rap ( and only some of that ) would still exist .
These guys have been at it for more than twenty years and you will never hear any of their stuff on the radio.
I was heading for Aerosmith’s cover of Big Ten Inch, but Atomic Lobster beat me too it. I don’t know who did the original, but it was from the late 40’s or 50’s. Pretty racy for back then.
