They made a big deal out of the folding "box" gun. I've it Tivo'd somewhere, there's a smg out there that's the exact design of that folding pellet gun that they used for a design for their "invention". I'm sure one of you guys recalls the <span style="font-weight: bold">manuf/model</span>.
Again, they take credit for an "invention" that's not theirs. Incredible.

What I want to know is how do you take a torched and decommissioned MG 42 and <span style="font-style: italic">legally</span>reassemble it? It was a parts kit...Even from a practical standpoint- you sure as hell can't weld a receiver back together that's been torched apart in three places...

What am I missing here? </div></div>

The Magpul FMG. Built for the Glock 18 IIRC. A handgun with a giggle switch

Anyone else notice that the Thompson the Sheriff brought in and the Thompson the owner of rjf walked into the shop with were two different guns altogether?

The show is really a joke. I'm just waiting for ATF to walk in and shut them down.

Re: Sons of Guns - New Discovery Show

The Magpul FMG was actually a fully functioning firearm, using the Glock 18 slide as stated above. It was only made into an airsoft because there was high demand but there was a myriad of hurdles to make it into a real gun. It was shown firing on one show as a top 10 subgun I believe (not Magpul's idea, it has never even seen service).

Having said that, the idea goes back quite a ways. Ares made one, a guy in Texas made one that looked like a radio, and I believe even a foreign company made one which is in the Knight's Armament collection.

Re: Sons of Guns - New Discovery Show

I hate this show, its right along with all the other discovery channel "reality" shows; trying to make everyday shit seem exciting.
Everbody always tells me "you gotta see this show, you'd love it!" I always think the same way, what the hell is so cool about the cheap shit they make at redjacket? Suppressed Ak's, fake bazooka's, remote control MG turret to mount on my suburban, that gay ass fold out piece of shit that looks like a mini-uzi hinged on a shoe box, a gator killin stick.
All of this cheap mall ninja shit could be yours all for only 2,000$ per unit.
And they have to throw in as much stupid drama as they can, the yelling and arguing about stupid shit. This show needs to go away, same as every other DC show. What's next? Tiger pumps the shithouse? Or maybe one about the distressing hard lifestyle of a retarded paperboy, or even better: Who loaded my baby-cannon? All these shows try to make the average american fool think that he is an educated and tasteful genius, an that his everyday job an everyday life is so exciting. "It was a rough day down at the pawn shop" or "you should have seen what I auctioned off today!" Gimme a F_ckin break already! The entertainment bar is lowered daily, and it takes the collective American intellect with it.

Yeah...I should've looked a few posts up before I posted- I see someone already covered it before the show aired. Didn't know the Magpul never saw service. How the hell does something make "Top 10" when it was never in production...odd...

Re: Sons of Guns - New Discovery Show

I remember seeing brief cases that you put a Uzi or an MP5 into that then had a connector from the trigger to the handle of the case so you could shoot it right out of the brief case. This seems to make a lot more sense than one that you have to unflod to get into action.

Re: Sons of Guns - New Discovery Show

Well I made it through the first 8-10 episodes but I have to call it quits. I've gotten to the point where I hate the dumb fuckers face and when he talks he sounds like he's got a dick in his mouth.

I can't watch anymore!

Re: Sons of Guns - New Discovery Show

I agree this show is like a real bloody accident, you dont want to look at, it but you cant look away. I just keep watching this show and more and more I laugh at all the bullshit that comes out of it.

The father daughter thing is a lil creepy to me. At first I thought he had a real young girlfriend/wife and then when I found out it was his daughter it was weird.

Next the idiots in the back are funny, I wonder why this yah-hoo doesnt have real gunsmiths and not the high school kids that "work" on all the projects. If you listen to the fat guy talk about this crew you would think he has the best of the best. The only guy that seems worth a crap is the one all tatted out.

The owner is a real jewel, he talks so much crap and thinks he is all that. The more he talks the more he shows how silly he really is. He really tries to talk like he knows something and is something but I think Joe Dirt would be better in his role.

Hopefully this show wont be back for another season and I can get back to something better like Family Guy re-runs!

Re: Sons of Guns - New Discovery Show

Caught the episode las night. They were making the flashlight / rifle? Ole dude was using a 2x4 as a die and his hand as a press brake. Seriously how can these ass clowns claim to be weapons manufactures?

I put in a job application there. I have absolutely no gun smithing experience, but that obviously doesn't matter....

I'm confident I'll be getting a call back!!!

You gotta read this shit on their site.

...and I quote, "TS-SBS-MKY $1985.00
Quickly and securly lever attaches to a full length picatinny railed AR for the ultimate in door breaching technology!
AR sold seperatly."

Not only does their product suck, but they aren't the best spellers either....note the last word....

Re: Sons of Guns - New Discovery Show

I wonder if they got a deal for a second season? More money in the pockets of the hicks to do more dumb shit like take a old tommy gun and turn it into a modern SWAT weapon. NO MORE, STOP THE INSANITY!

Re: Sons of Guns - New Discovery Show

It's just a shame that this sort of nonsense is aired on TV as these guys do nothing for the image of gun dealers and owners. The general public will see these and think of course we should bring in more gun control. Whether they do decent work or not, when on TV they are representing us and I for one am dissappointed.

I'm just surprised that I keep seeing this thread at the top of this forum list.

B/C it takes a real snitch bitch of a person to call the ATF goons on a shop to find some paperwork discrepancy.

Not to say that snitch bitch men in the past haven't pulled that kinda shit, but it's dispicable behavior.

Re: Sons of Guns - New Discovery Show

The show is clearly intended for those folks that know absolutely nothing about firearms. I wonder how many dremels, grinders and and work benches were sold by Home depot, sears and loews since the show's debut. There are gonna be a lot of nitwits getting hurt making SBR "flashlight guns." Someone posted earlier, that the show is really trying to make compelling TV out of nothing. Why in the hell would you get mad at for posting on the website about a new product in the pipeline and then worse get mad because "supposed" people were calling trying to order the piece of shit they are making. the only reason I watch it is when nothing else is on and the remote chance the daughter's clothes falls completely off. I think she's pretty hot.

Re: Sons of Guns - New Discovery Show

It all goes back to when the TV writers went on strike and the networks realized that Springer was on to something. TV hasn't been the same since.

I can hardly stomach what has happened to the bike world as a result of "American Chopper" and now these douchebags are f'king up my other love.......

oh yeah-JRo is spot on on the snitch bitch comment!

I don't know what's worse, her voice or her snaggle tooth. She's fair at best, right up until she smiles or speaks and then things just start going down hill fast.

Do not pass go, do not collect $200....go stand in the corner with Shanky and punch yourself in the balls until either your judgement or eyesight experience a significant improvement in function.

LOL, c'mon guys, you know most of you would go home with her after a night of drinking at the bar. I just skip the bar part and head right home. LOL, she can sink that snaggle tooth in my neck anytime. I know I'm not the only one. ....or am I?

first off, she's not hot, BUT... I would fuck her in the ass and cum in her mouth

Re: Sons of Guns - New Discovery Show

Wish Discovery would ditch these assclowns. Maybe bring back Jesse James and the biker build off or just plain ole fuggin lion chasing zebra type shit.

Re: Sons of Guns - New Discovery Show

What I hate is the collective IQ of the entire shop is still below 80. The Scary thing is WIll actually looks smart. So much for the sophisticated gun owner.

The chick is kinda cute, but she needs to go to the orthodontist.

Seriously, who the heck thought of this show?

Re: Sons of Guns - New Discovery Show

I got to hold a RedJackass "integrally suppressed" AK at the Tulsa gun show on Sunday. I don't know how it could work. It appeared as though it had a 3" barrel and you could drop a nickle down the I.D. of the suppressor, the hole was huge! Maybe because it's a well known fact that AK bullets tumble after leaving the barrel(HAHAHA)? The baffles had to of been cut on a cnc so they must be out sourcing them. I doubt Fatty or the crew could write code or a coherent sentence.

Well said. History and Discovery channel has tapped into the b.s. "Drama sells" market and focused their shows towards the MTV type. Fail on their part.

Re: Sons of Guns - New Discovery Show

Them boys do real nice work on Krinks and all AK-47,s and Saigas breed of shot gun. I would like to date his girl she knows quite a bit about selling and buying guns. They built up this flame thrower free of charge for a 74 year old Marine and then let him shoot it. He used 7 of those flame throwers up at Iwi Jima taking out pill boxs he was awarded the CMH for it . I think they ok good ole boys.

Did they really? Or was that scripted/make-believe, like the contractors, Navy boatmen-parts of the show?

When I saw the episode where the lil' tattoo'd dipshit got a Saiga for his B-Day, all I could think of was American Chopper. Ya know, where OCC built a bike & gave it to the high school kid that worked in the shop, or when they "gave" Vinny a new roof for his house. Only to find out later, giving the kid a bike was all Hollywood bullshit, & they "gave" Vinny a new roof then cut it outta his check till they made their money back.

Don't believe all that "feel-good," Hollywood Bullshit u see on TV...

Only $2300 plus paperwork. I should have bought a dozen at that extremely fair price.

Where do you live? Come to California for a few weeks, you will have a new appreciation for "hot"....

Re: Sons of Guns - New Discovery Show

You know I don't really have a dog in this fight and I could care less about Red Jackets work as I have no need for their services. But this 6 page rhetoric is getting pretty comical.

Do you think these guys truly give a rat's ass what all you experts think? And secondly I would assume that ole Fat Boy and his snaggletooth daughter are laughing their "red neck" asses at each of you all the way to the bank.

I'm certain that all of your expert opinions gravely affect their success and income!!

If I were in their shoes as opposed to mine and yours. I would purchase each of you a pointed stool and invite you to sit on it and rotate!! lol

Will be interesting to see if the scathing reviews by us Hidesters have any affect on their ability to procure a second season.

Cheers!!

how's the saying go? any publicity is good publicity. You couldn't be more right, these folks probably made out pretty good. (moneywise)

Re: Sons of Guns - New Discovery Show

They show is watchable, but anyone with any sence wouldn't want anything those nozzles have touched. Just because they have a show and the money that comes with it doesn't mean any of us have to respect their work.
