Definitely agree that the older generation fucked the younger generation. You might actually find that the old folks are the ones that built the foundations of the computer, communication and electronics infrastructure that young people take for granted today. Just because some older person may have trouble figuring out some new "modern" GUI interface that some marketing puke thinks should be forced on everyone (because apparently the "modern" one from 4 years ago is not "modern" enough any more), doesn't mean they don't have a better understanding of electronics and the guts of computers than many young people do these days.

War and resistance on the home front are where those who have the motto of "What are you going to do, Cut short my young life?" excel. The valuable folks then are equally the ones who provide the supplies, logistics, cover, planning and transportation, in addition to the trigger pullers.

Just as the USA has the best military the world has ever seen, but only part of that is because of our soldiers, a huge part is because we have the world leading industry, technology, research & production which gives them unmatched weapons & logistics. In addition to our large economy and tax base being able to pay for some of the best training & huge stockpiles of the best equipment and weapons systems.
Quite a lot of the "older" people contributed greatly to the USA being unmatched during the technology race that followed the second world war.

Just as important as the weapons systems and soldiers were all the older people that built up an unmatched intelligence, reconnaissance and signals intelligence infrastructure which lets us enjoy an unmatched picture of world events at any given time.

The downside has been the politicians and greedy corporate executives that were allowed to plunder the country for their own gain & own ideology. However falling for propaganda is not unique to any generation, just as today's generation is so steeped in propaganda they can't hardly think for themselves any more.

Actually, I think it's Gen X and Gen Y. Baby boom ended in 1964. Most baby boomers kids... now have the retarded teenagers who are eating tide pods and carrying on.

As I have said before, I am not a believer in the term "The Greatest Generation." Because every generation... has their greatest. And their losers. Gen-X had their greatest. They fought in The Gulf and Somalia and the Balkans... Gen-Y had their greatest... who went to Afghanistan and Iraq... and took a bunch of great Millennials with them.. in a multi-generational conflict.

IMHO, it's a cycle that will never end. There will always be great ones! But the Boomers (I was born in the last 15 days of the last year... of the Baby Boom) -- my generation -- didn't help.
