I've been lurking on the Hide for a while, and I really appreciate all of the information I've gleaned from the expert community here. I've recently emailed LL asking for sponsorship for our Ragnar Relay team. He's graciously agreed to support us, so I'm putting up some info about us here on the Hide.
The Ragnar Relay is a 24-hour, 200 mile relay race run by teams consisting of 12 of the most dedicated, interesting and eclectic guys and gals in multiple locations across the country. Our team is no different - we've brought together some of the best athletes of American military. I represent IODA 9424 (Instructor Operational Detachment Alpha); we are students in the Special Forces Qualification Course (SFQC) at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. As you probably know, we have already gone through a most rigorous selection process just to get where we are now, and we are training to be the elite warrior-athletes that our line of work requires. We have a wide variety of experiences within and outside the army. Our "dirty dozen" includes combat veterans decorated for valor, wounded warriors, Rangers, entrepreneurs, Native Americans and first-generation Americans (no convicted felons, unlike the original "dirty dozen" though).
Again, thank you for your support. We're still looking for more sponsors, so if you can help, please contact us. If you would like more info about the Ragnar Relay, go to http://www.ragnarrelay.com/race/dc. To contact our team, feel free to contact me on the Hide.
As we continue to prep for the race, I'll post up pictures, and, of course, some pictures from race day.
