Once more the inverse barometer of all things firearms related chimes in with his drunken late night stupidity. Practice pointer...when considering firearms advice, you are best served by doing the exact opposite of what tipper suggests.

I'm sorry ORD, that is the problem every part maker want's to make there parts a little different be it .001 or .010 or even metric so you will be stuck with buying there parts again if they fail. Some use SAE & some use metric. What the hell they are close.

It is NOT a parts-maker problem!
Look, by in large, everything in the AR-15 world with limited exceptions operates on the "specifications" for the AR-15/M16 that have existed for MANY decades now. Also, where there are "variances" from that specification, there are usually fairly sound reasons for making the variances (i.e. - Geissele triggers using non-spec pins in lieu of the nearly universally adopted 0.154" pins...save Colt being stupid in/around the Clinton ban years as one other example of non-standard FCG pins).
Not so, or even close to it, with the large-frame AR world which has evolved/developed along a totally different, primarily commercial, path, adopting SOME AR-15 parts/accessories along the way, rejecting others, and developing multiple sets of "specs" upon which multiple platforms are built (all within their respective specs). If something is sold as being "DPMS spec" and isn't well then you have an issue (same with an "Armalite AR-10" part if it isn't). BUT...to say that something is "out of spec" just because it is different from one platform to another is off base (whether it be POF to DPMS or Armalite to DPMS). Were there actually a universal spec for large-frame ARs, it'd be a totally different story, but there is not, thus it rests on the individual consumer to educate themselves and be away of any differences BEFORE jumping in with both feet and attempting to use parts that are NOT within SPEC for their particular rifle (i.e. - see the distinctions made in the firing pin thread above that you linked).
As to metric v. SAE...you aren't going to win that fight any more than any number of different groups who have lobbied for standardization of our systems of measurement for decades. Best to just know both systems and the appropriate conversions to making one into the other. Hopefully, mfgs do the same when making parts.[/QUOTE\\
ORD, you are a kind and caring SH member.
You have pretty much summed up the current situation with regards to parts, fitment, etc., esp. the posse of .308s out there.
AND, you didn't need a wall o' text to do it.
Tipper, make a fucking drink.
Tipper, the day you make a useful post that actually contributes intelligence and somehow makes since... I'm not sure what I'll do, I'll probably have a heart attack from being in shock. This is all assuming I don't use the handy dandy ignore user feature before hand because you're being a window licker again.
Spot on.... Some people can't help but go full retard.... But I guess that goes without saying when your operator as Fuck....
