I'm looking to expand the room on my Warhammer to hold some bulky clothes and such for some later hunts this year and I keep arguing with myself over whether to get the spike duffel because it is cheaper and light, or the little brother so I have the option of using it as a day pack also. I can get the Little brother off pro motive for about $130,but they don't have the duffel in stock. Anybody have experience with these that might help?

FWIW I keep all my bivy stuff in the spike duffel--Sleeping bag, pad, bivy tent, stove and food. It's awesome this time of year when I'm getting home from work, simply grabbing my J107 and going hunting as fast as I can. With the spike duffel, I simply add it when I know I'm going on an overnight. No rearranging, extra packing, etc. Just ready to go.

That's what I had in mind. I like the idea of the Hammer being my base pack and being able to add or subtract as needed. I'm not sold on the little brother as a pack but a buddy of mine swears by it and has been telling me to go that direction. The hammer works well where I'm at for hunting the bigger stuff but I'd like a lighter day pack for scouting or calling coyotes that had the option of a scabbard. I'm not big on the Eberlestock packs that have the scabbard built in and the Little Brother is the only one in that size range that has the option. And it fits the Warhammer system. I have been eyeing the X2 a little but since I'm headed out for a buddies muddle loader deer hunt next week, another friends elk hunt shortly after that and another friends daughter deer hunt somewhere in between, (no tags for me this year) I'm in no hurry.

I too have been thinking about packs.
I am nmot familiar at all with these new units, built in frame, hydro packs etc. I do want to put together two bug out bags, with enough rations etc. for about four days.
Would these packs be suitable for this, or, is there something else I should be looking at ???
Do You have a link for these packs ???

I don't know how to post a link but you look up Eberlestock on their website. This Warhammer I got is about perfect for me and the hunting I do here in Arizona. Like Idaho Savage my idea of a bug out bag is what gets me out the door for a hunt after work but I'm sure it will work for you too. I went ahead and ordered the super spike duffel earlier, but after reading around here since there is a lot of good said about Ceylonc. When I put a little money together I'm going to look into the X2 through him.
