Looking for a spotting scope with reasonable clarity out to about 1,200 yards. I don't use a spotting scope that often so I would like to keep the price between $500 and $1,000. I have always had good luck with Vortex products and was considering the Diamondback or Viper 20-60x80 scopes. Good or bad idea?

I’ve got the straight version, it’s a great spotter for that money.

Dang...
I wasn't seriously in the market for one right now, but that price has me thinking about the credit card nervously...impulse buying is dangerous!

I agree as well. I went to Sportsman and lined up several different spotters on their tripods they had on display and this seemed the best bang for the buck, in daylight anyway.

We are still offering the members here the Athlon Cronus 20-60x86 for $849.99 (you must call in for this price)

Does the Sportsman's warehouse require a membership to receive that price?

Was this Razor the gen 1 model like pictured? Just making sure it's not the gen 2. If it is I can't order 1 fast enough. I don't think the reticle eyepiece works with the gen 1 though which is what I want.
