I've had a SpringfieldM1A NM that I have been using to target shoot and shoot some local CMP matches since 1998. With open sights my rifle performed great; especially shooting FGM 168. However, over the past year or so I decided to scope it to do some precision work. I used a number of mounts, rings and scopes and always had terrible results. My last resort: I called Sadlak Industries and spoke to their customer service and sales reps. (very knowledgeable and helpful). I thought my SA receiver may have been out of spec, as well as, the sales rep. They sent me the necessary receiver inspection kit to take critical measurements they required. My receiver had a few variances that puzzled the owner of Sadlak, but my receiver was still within tolerance limits.

I purchased the Airborne Model. I must admit, I struggled with getting the mount properly mounted as the directions indicated, but got it done. I mounted a US Optics ST 10X Ergo in Leupold rings.

I shot it at the range this past Sunday. I first used some 308 NATO cheapo ammo that I had to attempt a sight in at 100 yards. Wow, I was all over the paper like the other scopes and mounts I used in the past (same occurred using this ammo in my Remington model 25). I then used some Remington Premier 168 GR. Match and was able to tighten up the groups to 2 inches at 100 yards. Still worried and not impressed I broke down and used my expensive 168 FGM. I consistently shot Sub-Moa at 100 yards with this ammo.

Next week I will shoot 200 and 300 yards using FGM 168 to see how she will shoot. I'm guessing she will do well.

I did use decent mounts in the past and some OK scopes, but I should have just used Sadlak Ind., and US optics a year ago and saved all the cheapo ammo I burned up in another rifle that wasn't precision oriented.

I really can't say enough about the people at Sadlack Industries. They are great folks and definitely get my business in the future. It was especially nice to get a followup phone call from the owner about 2 months after purchasing my mount to see if I had any problems.

I sure like my M1A scout. I also bought the steel sadlak scope mount installed it, shimmed my barrel and put in the sadlak spring guide and with reloads I was shooting 1 inch groups at 100 yards. Sadlak makes great products. Buy once and buy right.

+1 on Sadlak. I have owned several M1a and currently have a nice Scout. First thing I do is to order up Sadlak parts to increase accuracy and shrink those groups. I plan on buying another M1a and I already have the three Sadlak parts waiting to be mounted.
I had a problem once with one of the parts and called them and spoke to the boss who was concerned and wanted to help. As it turned out I switched the part between two of my M1As and the part functioned again in each rifle. I got a call back with an inquiry as to my progress. That is highly unusual.
And yes Springfield M1As are sometimes a little out of spec.
