I'm getting ready to order a Spuhr of Griffin Armament mount, and came across a thread that talked about clearance issues with spent casing making contact with the mount and causing ejecting issues. Action is a Stiller Predator S/A. Thanks for any advise or comments.

Typically no. But it can happen on any action. Also depends on scope too and height

Probably won't get much feedback with a stiller predator

But lol a sperm? Really

Mainly the problem is with two lug actions. Putting the an M-16 extractor beside the lug, means it is going to be ejecting the case more vertically than before. If you look at the 700 bolt, and this is specifically where this problem comes form. The original extractor is right in the middle of the bolt lug.

When you move the extractor around the bolt you can see where the ejection angle is going to move up towards the windage turret or mount. LRI reports success mitigating this with dual ejectors.

Appreciate the information. Makes sense. Checked it today with a 1.5" mount with no issues, however I need to drop down to the 1.35" for better alignment with NV. I still don't see it being a problem. NX8 2.5-20

Ive never had problems with my modified rem 700 bolt w/ M16 extractor. The cases do hit the windage knob though. It's not a problem on my BAT TR has and m16 extractor as well.

Strange marketing from Griffin. I try to keep sperm off my guns, which weirdly enough is quite hard.

I think "Cool Ultra Mount" would have been a better name.

I’ve found that if you’re going to add a M16 style extractor to a 700 it’s best to add a second ejector. LRI does it for a very reasonable price.
