I would like to buy a spuhr mount for my rifle and would like to get the most out of it. I would like to use my Schmidt for beyond 1k yard shots. Which mount model should I get?
The 13 mil on a flat rail lets you zero at 100 yards. It will be too much on top of a 20 MOA rail.
For your application I'd go with the 6 mil Spuhr... with a total of about 11.8 mils cant when added to the 20 MOA rail you should still get the full 26 mils of elevation available from the S&B elevation knob (assuming your PMII is the 5-25).
If you don't need a 100 yard zero then add the 13 mil Spuhr to the 20 MOA (about 5.8 mils) rail and you'll be able to dial to the moon with a 600 yard zero.
I want a 100 yard zero and plan to take it out to 1200 yards with .308. It is a 5-25 Schmidt pmii. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to over due it with a 20 moa rail. This is my first adventure into the MIL game. I am trying to do it all right the first time around instead of trial and error. I have been an MOA guy till now.
I called mild high today and was going to order a 6mil unit. They told me with my 20moa rail I would not be able to zero my rifle at 100 yards. Can anyone varify this?
The 44.4 was designed for the S&B. Hakan Spuhr told me this himself. With 40.6, you will have 3.8 more down than the mount that was designed for it. You will be fine. I can PM you a dry erase board pic of the math if you want. I've tried to be helpful. I'm done. Good luck.

I certainly did not mean to upset anyone. I called mile high and the told me it would not work and I would not get a 100 yard zero so I panicked! I am spending 400 bucks and want to have it right the first time is all guys. Thanks for the help. Ordering as you advised
