The side pic or native send it level attachment requirement is what’s really limiting.

Spuhr, ZCO, now A419 mounts

MPA BA mount, the newer ones use the same screw spacing as Spuhr for the side accessories (pic rail, Send It, etc).
I know they're not the fancypants choice, but they work.
The new clamping bars break too
The mounts also fubar multiple brands of scopes parallax. Prolly causes tracking issues too
Yes, it does seem to be. I don't want to invest in a ZCO for every rifle. Switching one between rimfire and one between centerfire has not been an issue over the last year, but I am kind of sick of moving all the accessories with it and wanted to move a single unit.
I wish they did a 1.5" mount! I think they are an under rated mount though. Thats all I ran back in the day with the Razor gen2s. I really don't want to go lower than my current 1.34" rings. I'd rather go higher actually. I just prefer the head position with high mounts/rings.
They make a 1.5” (though, I decided a 1.25” height one works better for me on a Manners… YMMV):

Ah. Yes. I forgot to include the 36mm tube requirement in my list. You are right for 34mm. I thought I was in a ZCO ring/mount thread.

Had a few different brands over the years an never had problems with any of them, fit and finish better with some than others but all functioned without issue. Few years ago found Tier-One and have found no reason to use anything else since.

What!? That's new! And amazing. I checked that like a month ago and the only option for 36mm was 1.25. I appreciate it!
I'd spend my money with area 419 way before spur.
I still don't get why there's so many spur fanboys who chastise every single person with a broken mount. For the money they should be bullet proof, not subject to breaking from overwhelming a tiny fastener.

I just purchased grey ops mount. I’ll let you know what I think once I get it. Not much reviews that I can find.
Mine just showed up today. Initial impressions are great! Machining looks impeccable!
I know rocks were the first long range weapons, but isn't that a bit of overkill? Do you have enough elevation available for a 200 yard shot?
That Gray Ops mount looks sick. If I can fit my preferred level (MKM Xtreme) plus RZRG3 erector housing between the rings, it'll be my next one.
It looks like the GrayOps is 2.55" between the rings vs the MPA BA's 2.70", so it might be close... (if anyone runs that combo, post a pic plz/thx).

Why bother with a separate level instead of the cap-mounted Gray Ops one? Peeks right over the turret, very unobtrusive yet still visible.

I have own all 3 of them and currently running the area 419. I do agree with theOE800 and I think the placement of the level on the GOps is the best and better than a separate level.
I’d would go with the GOps or Area 419 over the Spuhr. My only complaint with the 419 so far is the diving board design going straight up sometimes I bump with my hand when dialing. You can see how close it is to my finger on the picture.

I've been very pleased with my switch to the Badger system. Max on bolt guns and cant on the ARs.
I want to try out the Area419 mount but the diving board is poorly designed.
Here’s two out of the three cracked Spuhr clamps. Not sure what I did with the third broken clamp.
That’s what I was doing, but swapped to the Gray Ops for bolt guns. There are trade offs in each system.
There’s a picture a few posts up that show it well.
Even with my diving board and impact on my Spuhr, I can still fully grip my turret. The same cannot be said about the Area419 mount. If it doesn’t bother you, then cool.
I don’t think so. They have this tapered design on their mount so diving board is consistent and straingh when mounting. It’s the whole gimmick.
The low diving board for the Area 419 mounts will be available soon (next week maybe) and gives a little more room behind the turret. When designing the mounting interface there were some compromises we had to make, but the result of that compromise is a diving board as rigid or better than anything else on the market. This isn't important if you're using it for a hand rest, but if you're running wmlrf it matters.
Well now that you’re on here. Am having issues removing the diving board to place the included pic rail back on. Is this normal? The thing is really tight on there.
Ive had the same 3 Spuhr mounts for many years (say 2014-ish maybe). They have been on more rifles than I can count. Had 10's of thousands of rounds fired on them. Hauled all over the US in the bed of a truck. Banged on every stage/prop you can dream of. Ive never had a single issue with them and Im sure as hell not easy on them. Always torqued them with the same cheap ass Wheeler Fat wrench. I see no reason to replace them, but if I was going to, Id probably give my money to Dave at Gray Ops. I know what kind of guy he is and what kind of shooter he is and his products and work reflect the same.
Walk it off similar to how you install it. The hardware is retained by a snap ring to allow you to push it back off the tapers. So just give each screw a rotation or so, alternating back and forth, until it walks off the cap. Be sure to not just run one screw out by itself.
After trying a lot of mounts...I've settled on hawkins. Feels well made. Never really heard of problems with them. I do like having a diving board for hand placement in positional shooting. Maybe I'll add a lrf one day

With a Gen3 Razor there’s nearly 0.6” of total space left to move the scope fore and aft. I have mine centered in the mount around 0.29” from each ring, there’s plenty of space for a low profile level.

A lot of people shoot the 1.27” height and I know there is some at the shop (Impact Precision). Check the website. There may be some 1.54’s as well.
It might sound ridiculous... but I really like the viscosity of the oil the MKM level uses, it makes it so the bubble isn't so squirrely like most of the others out there. I also like that the MKM level mounts with a hinge (ala ARC rings) so it's not such a PITA to set up.
The cap-mounted levels all seem to have too many compromises for me to live with... plus, it can be really tough to level a cap-mounted level with the rest of the gun and still get the reticle and level perfect without something getting wonky.
First leveling the stock/chassis/mount/pic rail in one step, then getting my reticle dead nuts with a plumb line and setting the scope-mount level OCD-perfect is what I find easier and is what I prefer.
I shoot both eyes open and the Send-It levels dazzle my eyes, eyes which have started to suck more as I age through my 40s, thus why I need the level out in front of the erector, so my mid-40s contact-corrected eyes can still see/use it lol...

It´s a russian rock, it can be deadly, fall out from a skyscraper and with the help of ZCO, it is nailed in to the spot it was dropped.
