Not a lot of love for KAC on this site. Mostly GAP, Larue etc.
New KAC is as good as any, with the best features. I had a SR25. Not impressed with accuracy. I did like the way it was built, easy to field repair with no tools etc.
What are you going to use it for? All the AR10/SR25 platform rifles are heavy and get heavier when humping them around.
If you are to get it for accuracy, look at a Les Baer, it will shoot the best in my expirence. I found no field use for the AR10 and sold all of them.

I ended up buying an OBR, but I still lust after the SR25 EC.
Who knows, I may get bored with the OBR and try to pick one up. There is hardly a negative word that can be spoken about the KAC rifles.

Do a search. There are several threads about the SR25 on this forum. Some not a big fan on this site. If you are going to buy one without a doubt get a new one, ECC.
I have run my ECC with all kinds of ammo doing drills from surplus radway and prvi to a wide array of TAP ammo and never had an issue. I have not heard of any issues with my ECC.

Not true. My emc has eaten anything I put in it. The first sr-15 rifles were optimized for a certain type of ammo but they later changed that because so many people shoot pmc and the likes. Get a knights you won't regret it. I own 4 sr-15 and a sr-25 and they just flat run.

I can attest to the ECC being able to eat a variety of ammo. So far, I've shot South African surplus, German DAG, Santa Barbara, Australian surplus, Priv Part an along with FGMM and Black Hills (red box), with zero issues. I too, was of the mindset that if a rifle costs 5g it better damn well eat whatever I feed it. Now, I wouldn't go so far as to expect it to run Magtech or Silver Bear ( Scar 17's function perfectly with the Barnaul I might add) but my OBR doesn't particularly dig that stuff either.

Knights is definitely top tier when it comes to customer service. I bought a triple tap off someone and somehow they lost the rockset and shims. I called knights to but them but they asked me for my address and shipped them that day, no charge. Had another situation where i need more rails for a urx-3. guess what, shipped them at no charge. I cannot image knights was no willing to help you with your problem. I would love to hear the whole story.

I have an older MK 11 Mod 0 manufactured in Vero Beach. This rifle is a shooter. It loves Federal GMM 168 and Hornady match ammo. Anyways decide your budget and what is important for YOU. Lots of good rifles out there to choose from.

I have an older SR25 which is a hell of a shooter, but not really something you'd consider running far with. My EMC on the other hand is about a 1 MOA gun and a true battle rifle. There is some info and pics on AR15.com from a recent Vickers class.

I would contact KAC if your rifle is not working!! I have an EMC and have never had a malfunction. Ate everything I fed it. Shoots M118LR like a dream and I've loaded some M118LR and its a one hole gun!! Wouldn't sell or trade it for anything out there. Super accurate in a compact package. It's my Go too gun!!

I did, I wrote that in my post! But in any case a $5000 rifle not running is unacceptable imho, but I am glad they seem to work for a lot of people; they just won't be getting my money in the future.

The newer KAC guns flat run, and will eat just about any quality ammo you feed them. (Think of it this way, would you run 87 octane in a Ferrari Enzo? Than why run questionaable surplus in an SR25. . . . )
Mine ran FN Ball and loves XM118LR. Only complaint I have on my EC is the weight, which is why I am looking to sell it for an ECC. . . .

That is what KB and III told me to do on barfcom in their forum (email KB), but irregardless of being ignored I have no interest in keeping a gun that cost that much that didn't run from the get go.
ETA: If the ammo comment in Kranzy's post was directed at me...I was using match grade ammo such as FGMM and SWA...wouldn't call that 87 octane. In fact they're both significantly better than any real 118 I've shot in both accuracy and consistency.

You seem to keep repeating the same thing over and over. Was it 1 email, or a dozen? Were you emailing from a domain that gets filtered into spam folders by corporate email systems? Did you try contacting their QC folks? What about calling? Without knowing what you did to contact KAC, you come across as not giving KAC a chance to fix it.
I work for a company that makes heavy construction and mining equipment. We strive to make the best, but sometimes stuff slips thru the QC cracks, and ends up getting delivered to the customer. It happens, no matter if its a $5000 rifle, or a $5.6 million dollar truck. With the company I work for, it can take some time for your request to get to the right folks who can help you, but when it does they'll get it squared away.
My experience was the opposite of yours. I had an OBR, and saw some other issues with a friends PredatAR. (Wouldn't run below 40 deg F) Sold the OBR, kept the SR. (Which ended up being cheaper than a similarly equipped OBR. . . )

I have both the ECC and EMC and would not change it unless for a larger caliber bolt. My EMC shoots great out to 600 yd. I took it out and shot a 6" plate at 500 yd 5 of 5 times. I do make my own loads for it and I get 1/2 MOA groups at 100 yd. I can shoot a bug hole with my ECC. I will admit it is an expensive rifle but it performs very well and I couldn't be happier.

Just bought an SR-25 ER model probably from 1994 or so and having a suppressor made for it. Vortex Viper PST scope and Badger rings plus a Harris bipod and 5 mags to get started. Im considering a Magpul PRS. This rifle will have a PVS-22 affixed to it once I can find a used URX3 for it or similar. I'm not humping this beast anywhere. Vehicle shooting or stationary only. I've wanted one for about 10 years and traded to get this one. Threaded gas block with pic rail on top and a carbon smooth tube forend. Pretty money if you ask me. Are the new ones sexier, maybe?

Have run the sr25 and mk110 overseas, currently running sr25 over here, not a big fan. If u have to get one, get an sr25. The early models had better qc. I would personally get an OBR.

My experience was the opposite of yours. I had an OBR, and saw some other issues with a friends PredatAR. (Wouldn't run below 40 deg F) Sold the OBR, kept the SR. (Which ended up being cheaper than a similarly equipped OBR. . . )
Quick question. Does your LT rifle leave a swoosh mark on the fired case? If it does, have you contacted LT about getting it fixed?
