Looking for scope recommendations for SR25 6.5 Creed 300-800yds -looking at SB Ultra Short. Not sure which reticle? Thoughts? Other recommendations? Better choices?
Problem with SB US is Spuhr mount was discontinued. See Eratac makes one but have only used Spuhr in past so don’t know much about them. Thanks for the assistance.

For a precision cartridge like the 6.5 Creed at ranges mostly beyond 300 yards you will be happier with magnification that reaches 15x to 20x max power. I really like the Leupold 3.8 x18. It is light for its class and very compact. Your mounting options will be limited due the 35mm tube. The Nightforce mentioned above is great along with 2.5 x 20. Spuhr makes a great return to zero mount if that is a requirement. Nightforce makes good light weight mounts as well. These days there are many great scopes even at lower price points. I think scope overall size/weight and reticle choices become bigger deciding factors. I would say the same applies to the mounting options. How much does it weigh/size vs return to zero requirement.

Thanks. What reticle and mount do you have on the Leupold?

Went with 5 to 25 on mine

The S&B 3-20 I have fits fine in a Geissele Super Precision mount. Solid and often available on sale.

Reticle is highly personal. For a gas gun I prefer a capped windage turret, and the low profile DT27 elevation, but the DT+ turrets are fairly low profile. The TR2ID and GR2ID reticles are pretty good, but some find the GR2ID too busy.

Thanks. I see they have several in 34mm tube size. Which one do you have?

It is the PN 05-418. A 34 mm, 0 MOA, hyper extended mount. It is on an LMT MWS as well, and could also use a less extended mount. This one allows use on a non-monolithic upper without bridging from the upper to the handguard.

Is that the Eratac mount for the Ultra Short SB? How do you like it?
Yep the EraTac qd mount for the ultra short. I have it with the bubble level. I like it overall it’s a solid mount, no complaints.

I do wish however you could have both the diving board and bubble level at the same time like Hawkins one piece mounts (I’m sure there’s others too I’m just partial to Hawkins)

To my knowledge that’s not an option on the EraTac. Well maybe I could put the bubble level on the rear but you can’t have both attached upfront.

It’s not an SR25, but have a NF NX8 2.5-20 on my 16” AR10 chambered in .308; it’s perfect for this rifle.

For an SR25I’d step up to an ATACR 4-16 though. The ATACR 4-20 is a bit too long IMHO; harder to use a clip on.

Alternatively, the S&B 5-20 ultrashort would be a great choice. I have an older version of that one on another rifle and love it despite the weight. Great scope.
