So I’m having a problem with my SR25 that I tried to reverify zero on today. I haven’t hardly shot it in a couple of years. I do remember now that the last time I did shoot It was having problems with the trigger not being able to pull back.

Anyways first shot I think at least three went off. Took it apart and looked at it and everything looked ok. Shot a couple of more and it seemed ok. Then one where the trigger wouldn’t pull back. Kicked that out and then another couple of good ones and again another double or triple. Packed it after that.

Rifle is pretty stock except Geissele national match trigger with i think the middle spring in it and Geissele charging handle. Ammo is Prime 175 factory. Shooting suppressed with Surefire can. I’ve had problems with the rifle in the past getting round to chamber but I stocked that up to Lake City brass that I reloaded that probably came out of a machine gun. Bought a small base die and that seemed to work that problem out except for afore mentioned not being able to pull trigger issue.

Any help would be appreciated. Got a pig hunt this week where we put out a thousand pounds of corn and ready to lay waste.

I had an SR-25 that I put a Geiselle SD3G im for a while. Initially, I was running the trigger like I do in my bolt guns and had numerous bump fires. When I ran the trigger firm and kept it pinned I had no issues. I ultimately put the factory trigger back in it. Not sure if thats whats going on in your situation. I hope that helps.

Sounds like it could be faulty trigger. Sear not catching hammer on reset and bouncing back into firing pin. If adjustable reset, try increasing reset distance.

I had a gin that was done but it was fire on press and again on reset. Turned out the rear trigger pin had walked out partly and allowed sear out of position on reset so it couldn't catch the hammer in time during reset.

Good luck and post back when fixed with solution.

Well I took it home and looked at it and nothing really stood out to me. So of course I go to YouTube. First off I didn’t know the National Match trigger was adjustable. So I watch the video and the guy says to back out the back screw until there isn’t a second stage. I begin to play with mine and there already doesn’t seem to be much of one so I loosen it some and doesn’t feel much different and then a little more and again not much difference. So then I tighten it back to where it was and then about another turn. Now it’s all the way tightened. At least I think it is. Don’t want to break it.

So with the back screw all the way in, I watch the rest of the video and he says the front screw is for second stage weight. Mine is all the way in. Not sure if this is normal good bad or what. Anyways backed it out a couple of turns and start playing with it and the second stage seems to have come to life. So now I’m back to the back screw loosening it up a little and still feeling second stage which I couldn’t hardly do before. The back screw is still pretty far in but with the front screw being loosened a little it feels like there is a little more travel and it might stay engaged some more.

Not sure if this is the answer but will try it again and try and call Geissele next week to see what’s up. If that doesn’t work then I’ll put the factory trigger back in. Also agree with some that have said that I may be the culprit but that wouldn’t fully explain the situations when the trigger won’t fire.

Appreciate the help and Keep the suggestions coming if you think there is more to look out for.
