Looking for a second outer layer for KS bow hunting right now I have sitka fanatic bibs and jacket. Would like suggestions on a back up bib or pants. Maybe a bit warmer but don't want bulk, also don't want it to be noisy against the tree.
Thanks.

I started putting on a wild things lvl 7 high loft 1.0 jacket over what I have on walking to the stand with. What an awesome jacket for sitting in the stand. Feels like your at home sitting on the couch warm.

I used to buy all the super expensive jackets and pants. I hunt in the north east where a lot of hunting is done from a blind wearing orange hat and vest. I think bibs are the best idea. My buddy put me onto carhartt. Not to expensive and super warm.

I have the fanatic and incinerator bibs and parka from sitka. Fanatic is definitely quieter than the incinerator and in some respects warmer but not waterproof like the incinerator. I used to wear carhartt winter lined bibs and parka, the sitka is definitely warmer than the carhartt. Just picked up an arctic shield body insulator to try out in late season. Bonus of the AS over heater body suit or the iwom, the AS is waterproof.
Check out firstlite sanctuary bibs and parka, a lot of guys say they are warmer than the fanatic

Another one I recently found and have done a little research on is shiver shield. Supposedly light weight and thin but boast's great thermal properties.
I have been kicking around the idea of ordering a jacket to test out.

I have the Fanatic bibs and jacket as well as the Sanctuary bib and jacket. The Sanctuary is my go to cold weather late season set up. Won't be needing it this year. I tagged out Saturday. I love the Fanatic and Sanctuary equally for their intended use. The Fanatic is my "go to" late October/November rut hunting clothing. Also love, love, love the Fanatic Hoodie.

^^^^^ this right here, almost exactly what I was going to say.... although first lite did come out with the solitude which is their earlier / mid season gear.... it replaced the Woodbury line except they added bibs for the line.... thing with Sitka, I feel they have a lot more thought out and bonus features....

Carhartts have always done the trick for me up in northern ND. Wear some sweatpants and a sweatshirt underneath when it’s closer to 0 degrees..nice and fuzzy warm. Material is quiet as well.
Couldn't agree more. Just a set of tan carhartts works great here in north dakota. And growing up in nebraska hunting in both Nebraska and northern Kansas I've found that fancy camo was just a gimmick. Now I do wear kryptek highlander but mainly just for coyotes.

The problem for me personally with Carhartt is it's cotton. I sweat quite a lot getting to my stand and up in the tree. I had a set of Carhartt and they trap and retain the moisture from perspiring. Not ideal for staying warm when not moving. For me the Sitka jacket and bibs with windstopper are the best. They are designed to allow the moisture to escape while keeping the wind off of you. I've tried it all and Sitka with windstopper works the best for me. I could care less about what camo they use.

I’ve had really good luck with most things I’ve ordered from Sitka. When I’ve had issues, they’ve been responsive.

I’ve become a fan of lighter weight shells and layers to build up too. Waterproof when necessary, soft shell and quiet when not. I went away from the big insulated bibs and overcoats, no regrets. I’m warmer, and have a more versatile wardrobe over all. I still like bibs for the coverage and fit, but go lighter these days.

If you’re looking for a more budget option than Sitka or Firstlite, I bought a ScentLok Tactix “All-Weather” jacket this year on clearance at my Gander Outdoors grand-closing.

I was pleasantly surprised how warm it was. All I ever wore was a layer of UnderArmor, a hooded sweatshirt, and the jacket. I sat in the stand all day in weather hovering around 0° multiple times. I always use handwarmers in those circumstances, so I’m sure that helps too but I was very happy with my purchase.
