Greetings,

Usually I run Lapua SRP cases for the 6.5 CM, but I thought I'd give Starline a try. Ordered 500 cases direct from Starline which was $283.00 shipped. The cases came bulk packed in a plastic bag inside a box, some of the case mouths are dinged up so I'll have to process them before I load them, no biggie.

Anyway I decided to weight the 500 cases to see how bad the weights are (spread) compared to using a premium case like Lapua, I was pleasantly surprised with the results. There are a total of 503 cases in the shipment, which was nice getting a few extra for other things needed. The difference between minimum and maximum case weight is...... 2.8 grains (over 503 cases). For the scale I used the FX120 scale and only weighed to the first decimal place.

So far I'm impressed with the weights, now to process and see how they hold up after load development and some shooting.

All the best,
Jeff

Hi Guys,

I forgot to update this thread with the results of the Starline cases in this Bartlien 1-7.5 twist M24 countour 26" barrel , so hear goes.

In my other rifle a Bergara HMR PRO I use LAPUA 6.5 CREEDMOOR CASES (no photo of target).

CCI 400 SRP
142gr SMK
2.245" measured at the OJIVE = .015" JUMP in this rifle

Two different rifles, but so far I'm really liking the Starline cases!

I'm thinking of settling on a similar charge of H4350.

24" Factory Savage getting around 2700fps at 41.8-42.2
Thinking of sticking with 42.0 as I had pressure signs at 42.2gr.

Heres shot 8, 9, and 10 of my ladder test.... at 500yds (about a 2in. spread)
Shot 8 - 41.7
Shot 9 - 42.0
Shot 10 - 42.2 (mild pressure signs)

I had 250 cases shipped from Starline two weeks ago. I run them through my Sinclair Mandrel at .262, chamfer and debur, ream the primer pockets and good to go. So far I'm a fan as well, especially for the price.
