These are some of the targets that we use during the SHTRC 2011 match, boy did they work well. The photo's are from a Memorial Day weekend shoot with a couple of friends.

The legs are 1'x1" 16 ga square tube.
Bar that connects the 2 leg assemblies and hold the target is 1" rebar
The brackets are of my own design that everything bolts to and are made out of 1/4" plate.
The bottom bolt of each leg can be removed and they fold up for compact storage.
Top rubber bracket is 1 1/2" sq tube with a small plate to bolt the rubber to.
I get the rubber from a mining supply shop its a 3/8 belt with 2 reinforcement webs.

Hope this gives everyone some good ideas for you own targets

Thanks Sean

Re: Steel gong frames

This is what my dad built for me. It fits perfect under the back seat of my truck, it breaks into six pieces and only takes two minutes or less to assemble

Thanks, these target took a beating at the match with 42 guys shooting the hell out of them for 2 days.

I'm going to take my camera down to work and take some pictures of the brackets and the stands folded up.

Lazy 21 target looks good you got a great dad.

Re: Steel gong frames

My water jet guy didn't get my holes cut in time . The clamps worked for a bit then gave out. I'll get pictures of the finished product. The brackets are 1/2" black pipe welded to square tubing. The legs and cross bare are 1/2" rebar three foot long . I'm going to store the rebar in pvc tubes with caps. Breaks down for easy storage .
