Steel

If your looking for an ipsc type target, Magnum Target in Arkansas was the best price I found when looking. Round/square plates, lots of places are similar price. You might save on cost if you can find someone local and can pick it up.

Dependant on where ur located but we have a local machine shop that does a lot of work for the mining industry. They use a bunch of ar400 abrasion resistant steel. Their scrap pile is a gold mine for guys like us. I’ve gotten along very well with it. Typical scrap price is cheap...

Rather than start a new thread, maybe this is a good place to ask. I made a frame out of some steel pipe and fittings, works really good and allows easy set up on uneven ground. My only problem is I made if to a 6" AR500 plate, and used chains to hang it. Besides having the chains shot in half numerous times, it also will wrap around itself with my 6.5 CM inside 500 yards, to the point where it cant be shot anymore. I've seen people using what looks like rubber straps that would wear hits far better, and may be stiffer to prevent the flipping. Can anyone point me in the direction of what material is being used? I read old firehoses once, but what I've seen doesn't look like old firehose.

I use rubber straps that came off the bumpers for loading docks.

Let me know, I can send you a few pairs. I have hundreds of them. they already have holes in them.
