Hey guys, I'm a dope and can't figure out how to get the battery in the damn scope and there isn't big Barney style pictures to help me. Also, windage has only .9mil left and only like 4.8 mil right. How do I get the full travel of 5 mil left and right?

Thanks if you can help me

Anthony, pull the windage knob back to the witness mark labeled 0 and reassemble this should reset the range. For the battery, remove the outer knurled cap (lefty losey) on the illumination/parallax knob. It can be really tight if it's the first time. :) There is a rubber o-ring for waterproofing. Remember to turn off the illumination. Being a mil-spec scope, there is no auto off feature.

Thanks QuickDraw. Ill check out the battery cover when I come home from work. I think I tried that for the windage already. I loosened my screws, pulled it out till zero matched up and I tightened it. It wouldn't give me any extra movement. Honestly, I don't know what the hell I'm doing, I have never owned such a nice scope and Leopolds and the Vortex's I have had all were super easy cause I knew those scopes. I may need a play by play.

Don't push the windage knob flush with the scope housing when you tighten the screws... I experienced the same problem until I figured out there is a intentional space that is supposed to be between the windage turret and the scope housing .. If you push it in all the way flush and then tighten the windage knob it will bind/stop in one direction after a few clicks.

I pull my windage knob out till its halfway out (I think) and its on the 0 line. Is that far enough?

Shouldn't have to pull it out per say. There's almost an air cushion/ vacuum created with the turret seal.. What I would do is loosen the screws and tug on the windage knob outwards just until you feel the suction start then release..tighten your screws back up...

Frogman, I tried that and it doesn't give me a full range of windage still. When I rev the elevation all the way up, I only get a few more mils but I'm still short over 3 more mils of windage.
