Rifle Scopes steiner 5-25x56 need some advice

ok so i would like someone's thoughts or know how on my rifle scope. im new to longer distances shooting, but not new to firearms. i picked up a steiner 5-25x56 msr ret
ffp with that said my elevation turret has the arrow ccw pointing for up elev....... but when i turn my turret for up elev my ret on the inside moves down and when turning the turret clockwise/down... my ret starts to go up. this may be a stupid question, but is this the correct functions for it?

All scopes do that, reticle down means barrel has to go up to raise POI.
