Just traded one off buddy. They are great scopes. They are built like a tank and the glass is very nice. Only reason I got rid of mine was the weight and they are huge, in the model I had 3-12x50. The turrets are also very good and zero stop function is not the best but it works. As Trevor300wsm said if you do a search you can find a great deal of opinions on them.
I think the zero stop is great. It's mechanical stop that requires no special tools or shims.

The 3-12 is a very different scope from the 3-15. I think the 3-15 is decently compact for its power range. Optically it is superb. The zero stop us very well done. Turrets are great and I love the 2nd rev indicator.

Are you after the MSR reticle? It seems a bit thicker in the 3-15x50 and that would be a good thing for low light hunting/tactical usage. That is what the MSR was designed for tactical/military it is not a target style reticle.
I love mine, but I'm not the biggest fan of the zero stop. I reload and test different loads, and It's kind of cumbersome to have to remove the turret to be able to move the point of impact down. Unless I'm doing something wrong.

Don't remove the turret! Loosen the set screws, turn turret a little (even 180), tighten set screws, move down the clicks you need, loosen and reset to zero. Hope this helps.

Hey, I have it on top of an M107A1 with a 27 MOA canted rail. I couldn't get enough elevation with just loosening it. I had to take it up high enough to clear the stop. The stop works and the nipple still pops after the first rotation.
am I doing it wrong?
Wasn't impressed with the 5-25x56. Too big and long for anything but a massive rifle and the turrets were extremely difficult to read. They are imprinted with gray dash marks on a black turret housing. That's like reading a web page with fuscia font on a lime green background (poor contrast). I also could not tell where I was at the 1st-2nd revolution turning point at 14 mils. IMO scope manufacturers need to follow Vortex's lead and make scopes more user friendly. As far as zero stops, everyone has them now-a-days...if a scope doesn't have one then its not much of a tactical scope. Heck even my $300 swfa has one!
OMG, are you serious??? The second turn indicator really could not get ANY easier.

There are lines on the turret that extend to the 14 while you are turning to 15.

I have a 3-12*56 and the glass is awesome and fabulous in low light or under a lamp ( I'm in Ireland we can night shoot vermin here with lamps) the zero stop is great I have it on a remmy .270 win. Hope this helps

The 3-12x56 was specifically designed for low light conditions, but the brightness and clarity in the other scopes will serve you well also.

The zero stop can be a LITTLE more time consuming (~1 min) if you have to go down further than 0.2, but my zero is usually spot on and never more than 0.2 off.

He was referring to a 4x scope and the OP is asking about the 5x scopes. Totally different turret systems. The 4x scopes stop right at 0 and you can remove the cap if needed. The 5x will go past 0 by about .3 mils and you should not remove that cap.
I have the 3-12. I wish mine went 0.3 mils past zero, but it doesn't.

Sure you can remove the cap on your scope. No problem with that. Going past zero was one of the improvements we made when we came out with the 5x scopes
I have the 3-15 X 50 Military, MSR reticle and I have been very impressed with it. Glass is very good, quality is on par with my Nightforce ATACR. Zero stop is excellent, much better than the Nightforce system in my opinion...less things to screw up while setting it. Turrets are great, second revolution indicator is wonderful. Low light viewing is great. No real complaints. Only thing I would change would be to stiffen up the parallax adjustment knob, mine moves pretty freely, but it is very much a personal preference. I would certainly spend my money on another one. Buy with confidence. Lifetime warranty, US service center, German glass, whats not to like? Very happy with mine.
