Hello new to the hide. Would $1620 be a fair price for a new Steiner T5xi 5-25-56 SCR? Another question is I have seen a lot on tracking problems when they first were produced? Is this something they fixed and what are the upgraded turrets I see? Is it the solution they come up with that comes on newer model? Is it something you have to send in to fix the problem or is it all ready fixed and just some sort of upgrade? Also can someone tell me if there is any difference in the glass clarity on the T5xi and GS3? I do not have a T5xi in my area to look at but was able to look at a GS3 and was not impressed(personal opinion). I assume the T5xi has better glass but do not know for sure?
Thanks

I've had 2 of the 5-25 T5XI scopes. I think I paid somewhere around $1300 for one, and around $1500 for the other one that was bnib. Both mine tracked great. The ones with upgraded turrets have their symbol on the turrets while the original ones did not.

I can not comment on the GS3, but I bought one used a couple months ago and you don't need to worry about tracking. If it has the upgraded turrets (if it's new, it will) they will track very near to 100%. I'd say that's a pretty good price for a new model. The glass is decent, the turrets are nice (in my opinion), and it will serve you well. Put it in good rings, stick it on a rifle, don't look back.

Anywhere from $1300-1500 is a fair price. New/Used/Blem/Refurb doesn't really mean a whole lot as they have the Heritage Warranty. I paid $1500 for mine but it came with seekins 6/4 rings and a vortex bubble level. I have the upgraded turrets and it tracks nuts on. Yes, the CA is noticable, but for $1300-1500 i think it is a steal compared to 2k scopes which is where Steiner wanted to price this scope.

You notice much CA? I don't remember seeing very much in that scope.

I know this is not the one your looking, we have a USED Steiner 4-16x50mm MIL w/ GEN2 MIL-DOT 1/10 MRAD asking $1150.00 or best offers.

I have several Steiner's and I don't have a problem with CA in the T5s but my M5xi 3-15 definitely has it. The T5s are a bargain and I really like the older 4+16x50s like CS Tactical has above.

Steiner fixed mine, no problems. I sold it to another member, and stuck with the DMRII. The only reason was because the person contacted me about the DMRII, but wanted an illuminated reticle, so I sold them the TX5i instead. I would have been just as happy to keep either one.

Yeah, the one I bought had been back to Steiner twice. Once for the turret upgrades and another time for a grey reticle. I called before I bought the scope and all T5Xi's are covered by the same warranty as the Military series, The Heritage Warranty.

Mine went back four times, but they refused to service it as they do not honor their warranty against manufacturing defects. I do like that they give it a fancy name, though.

I'm glad Steiner says they have a warranty. Too bad they do not honor their warranty.

I appreciate being called a liar and a troll when i tell the truth. It makes it easy to categorize the accuser.

You know what would be cool? If Steiner would repair or replace the product at no charge. But they will not, as they do not honor their warranty and have repeatedly refused to do so in a passive aggressive manner. They do not respond to calls, emails, etc. I messaged them on facebook, they didn't respond, but did read the message. I posted on their page, but they deleted it and blocked me from it.

They're crooks, they are childish, and they fuck over their customers. They're very scummy. Luckily, they've got you two to shout at their customers and call them liars even though you've both seen proof and know I'm not lying.

What is the term for a person that knowingly states falsities? I believe the answer may be slightly ironic, but I can't quite pen it.

What we've seen here is someone who is complaining about something unreasonable and that had Steiner try to appease numerous times. But you would not be appeased nor made happy no matter what. This all proven by your own stories and nothing else.

On the other hand, I've read numerous accounts of people who had issues, some with scopes they admittedly bought for a song knowing it had issues and Steiner repaired or replaced their scopes. This was my case also. My scope had focus parallax issues at 100 yards and in but was great otherwise. After using it like that for a year and a half, I sent it in under warranty and told them everything. They replaced the scope with a new one.

That is where I am coming from. You are obviously an unhappy customer and hate Steiner. I get that and nothing will change that. But when you make a post that purports to be Steiner's warranty and is untrue, it is an obvious troll and nothing else.

So, continue with your name calling and innuendo. It matters not to me. Readers can tell the difference.

Man give it up, we have all seen your posts in the Steiner T5Xi thread. Whatever you got against Steiner keep it to yourself and dont poison these threads like you have been. Yes they had tracking issues but it was fixed. Let it go man.

But it's true, and you know it's true, and yet you keep lying about it.

Using socialist tactics now? Repeat a lie often enough and expect that people will accept it as truth?

I have said nothing that isn't supported by everything posted, by you and others.

You should really see someone about your abnormal obsession with this. It's starting to affect your judgement. We here on the Hide are not your enemy.

I'd let it go if people didn't keep lying about it. I mean lie after lie after lie. It's pathetic.

No one has lied about anything...we had issues and were open about the issues....Steiner fixed them and honored their warranty. Yes, it took a while for them to admit there was an issue and fix it but yes they did fix it. The only person who has had issues is you and your damn turrets not lining up exactly after it had been back to Steiner 4 times or some nonsense. Honestly, after the way you have acted I can fully see why Steiner gave you the cold shoulder.

Look at it like this: you chose to do business with Steiner and Steiner chose to do business with you, after the 4th time your scope had been back and given the clean bill of health Steiner decided to cut ties with you. Just like you could cut ties with Steiner and sell the scope. It is a partnership and after the 4th return of the scope Steiner valued you more as a non customer than a customer. Quit trashing up these threads with nonsense supported by no facts or documentation.

I have no affiliation with Steiner and above is my own judgement I have come to after reading all 76 glorious posts of Twinsen's Steiner bashing on the Hide.

Oh, so now "the turrets didn't line up" is the lie and the reason they didn't fix it is because after they refused to fix it, I flipped my shit. They must have had a crystal ball to know I'd tell the story of them fucking with me, so i'd deserve to get fucked with.

Lie on, ladies.

I never said that is why they refused to fix it, but simply replying to your posts makes me never want to interact with you on any transaction much less warranty work. I cant remember every nuance of your story and I dont think you can either. I am sure the OP has taken your spot on and solid advice.
