Hello everybody
So I have been lurking on the hide for quite a while now and purchased an used LLC 7000 SN GAP crusader from a member. I have put aprox 500 rounds through the rifle and have taken extremely good care of it. However there is one problem. The bolt is sticky. I do not mean the bolt locks shut after firing. As I cycle the bolt the CeraKote seems to stick and causes the bolt while being cycled to lock against the side of the action. This is only compounded when having to put more pressure on it to slide the bullet out of the mag, sometimes to the point where I have to push the back of the bolt with my thumb.
The only reason I assume the CeraKote is to blame is because I have taken powder solvent and carefully cleaned the bolt and inside of the action. (have tried both with and without a dry lube) In addition there are sections on the bolt where the CeraKote has been and is being rubbed off entirely.
So, is there anything I can do? Any type of cleaning product that might help? A better lubricant? Or do I have to suck it up and deal with it?
While it is a GAP and I do not wish to do this I have no plans for reselling the rifle and stripping the bolt of the CeraKote (by a smith of course) is NOT out of the question. I would prefer alternative options though.
Thank you for your time
