Big thanks to Russ and Jerry this morning for the help with installing their DBM. Let it be know they are thus far the ONLY vendor I've encountered to actually take the time and share REAL dimensions for fitting these up.
What a remarkable idea. . .
Russ spent about 10 minutes on the phone with me going over the locations, radius points, etc on the new floor metal they are offering. As he talked I scribbled out a sketch in sharpie marker on my work bench.
Aside from minor cutter comp/Z depth adjustments the piece fell right into the stock.
I cannot express how nice this is. Typically it's half a day wasted dickering with radius gauges, calipers, a 4x4 post, and editing code until the part fits right.
First time out of the gate this one fell right into place, the inlet is a slip fit, and the magazine height is spot on.
Again, thanks Russ/Jerry.
For those interested and to fellow smiths, here's the digits to drive code/tool paths off of. These are all nominal dimensions. You'll need to comp your tools accordingly. Russ stated he'll eventually update their site with a PDF doc that'll also cover the values. For now, hope this helps.
