Stock for AR10

For one AR10 I have an Ace Skeleton stock which is nice but looking for another stock for my second AR10. It currently has an Armalite AR10 carbine buffer tube on it and neither a Magpul ACS-L nor a VLTOR EMod fit very well which might be affecting my accuracy. I am currently looking at the Magpul UBR (expensive) or the Ergo F93 stock. Both are supposed to lock up tight as a fixed stock but are heavy. A final option is the Magpul PRS but that is even heavier and more expensive. Any inputs on any of these stocks?

I'd go with an LMT SOPMOD.........again. They fit snug on the buffer tube and are light weight. I had a PRS on mine but it was just too big and heavy for what I need.

Skeeter just get a regular AR-15 carbine buffer, and one of Slash's Heavy Buffers. Stocks fit better, and collapse all the way. I'm running the ACS on mine.

I like the ACS stock on my SIG 716 I also like the STR. But went the heavy route on my AR 10A4 with a PRS. I guess it depends on how the rifle will be used.

I am currently looking at the Magpul UBR (expensive) or the Ergo F93 stock. Both are supposed to lock up tight as a fixed stock but are heavy.

Forget about Ergo, go with UBR. It's a winner, hands down. I run my HK MR 223 with UBR. No wobble, no nothing. When locked, it's as solid as fixed stock. While being noticeably heavier than any of the ordinary adjustable AR stocks, it balances very well against heavier barrels. It also gives you a nice cheek weld against polymer, while every other ordinary adjustable stock, unless you run it collapsed all the time, forces you to put your cheek against bare metal of buffer tube at some point. Monopods on adjustable AR stock are generally a joke. If you want to use a monopod on your UBR, you can have it solidly mounted via Accu-Shot BT42 Strike Plate Rail. The UBR's only downsides are its weight and cost. It's heavy because it's built like a tank and it's expensive because quality doesn't come cheaply. Did I say it's a winner?

I have an F93 on my 18" 5.56 AR, and am planning the same thing for my SBR and my MATEN. I really really like it.....plus the savings over similar magpul offerings yields more practice ammo.

The reason I ask is, unless you're kicking' in doors, or climbing into helicopters or Bearcats, Eugene Stoner had it down. I have started converting some of my precision AR's back to the A2 stock.

I don't need a stock to collapse on my precision AR's, and the A2 stock is solid. It seems that even the best collapsable stocks wiggle just a little. I mount my optics low, close to the bore, not a bad idea anyway, then I have no problem with cheek weld. Plus the angle of the underside of the stock is a natural ramp for a sandbag or sand sock. This is a cheap option also, as the gun will probably come with this stock. Low marks in the sexy factor though.
