F T/R Competition Stock for F-Class

I have a 308 and 243AI both in A-3's and a 223AI in a T-2. I like both patterns fine. I'm going to have a 7WSM put together this winter, pretty much an F-class exclusive rifle, and was wondering if what other guys are using for F-class stocks. I'm not big on the A-4 or 5. Anyone use McMillan's dedicated F-Class or Prone stock?

There are some of the McM F or prone shocks out there, but in the F-open category most of the stocks I see are wood stocks that look like they come from the bench rest world. Not sure who makes them

I shoot a McM A5 in TR but I'm going to change that this winter.

Manners or McMillan both have F Class stocks. I use the Manners F class stock. I switched over from McMillan A5. If you need something in a hurry look and see what Bruno's might have.

Are you shooting TR or Open? If you're shooting TR how do you like the Manners? Most of the stocks I've seen seem more oriented to bag riding than mounting a pod, the McMs and the Manners both advertise that way.

i put together a 6brx for midrange f-class this spring. it rides in a mcmillian f-class stock. love the way it rides the bag. my only concern for a 7wsm would be that it may flex a little more than a 6brx during reciol. i'm looking at a preision rifle and tool lowboy for my .284 build this winter.

Running a McM F-class on my 300WSM pushing 210s at 2980, stock has worked very well. Wouldn't hesitate to use another F-class stock from McM for an F-open rifle build.

I currently use a McMillan Prone stock. It works for me. I bought it from an individual mostly because I didn't have to wait for one to be made and the price was great. My first consideration in a stock would be how it fit the individual. I have an adjustable cheek with a fine thread and a 3-way butt. The action sits low in the stock as well. I can raise the butt plate high enough to be in line with the barrel. Those factors would be most important to me in selecting a stock should the need arise for a new one.

Another vote for the Precision Rifle & Tool lowboy. The grip is actually resembles the A-5 style quite a bit which is great when switching between your Tactical rifles & F-Class rifles. If you don't want wood the Manners F-class stock is without a doubt the stiffest F-class stock I have seen.

I've got a McM F with extra weight added by McM to get to the weight limit for open class F class, it seems to work really well the manner F looks like a good stock as well.

I had a McGee on my Highpower rifle, shot with the McGee prone stock - you just can't find a more comfy stock to shoot with, IMHO:

Hi i have a Manners F Class stock being built for my 7mm SAUM i am using a Shehane ST100 modified thumb hole the stock is just to light for the 7mm short mag but is perfect for the 308 and 6mm Dasher so it will be retired for the 7mm and i am building another rifle to stay in 7mm. I shoot a lot of F Class and am the state and national title holder for long range F Class from 1000 to 1200 yards in every state here in Australia so shoot a lot and know what makes a great setup for long range.

Take a look at toms F Class stock it is far superior to a lot of other stocks out there and is designed specifically for F Class he has reinforced the fore end and lengthened it to perform perfectly with 30"plus barrels and larger calibers.

wouldn't the 284 be beter than the bigger 7mms if your doing alot of competition shooting its supposed to get 2000 odd round barrel life.

The 284 is a great round but i am getting well over 2000 rounds through my 7mm SAUM and it will run a 175gr MatchKing between 3050 and 3100fps it has worked realy well for me i used to use a 284 i was the first one in Australia using one when every one said the 6.5 was best i might have been ahead of my time LOL

Currently using a McMillan A5 which will be replaced with a Master Class Prone by Alex Sitman.

The Manners stock is much better stock than the A5 in my opinion.

Got a F/TR stock from Ray Bowman at PRT, having it bedded at the moment, used one of Alex Sitmans 3- way adjustable buttstocks to save weight. Really impressed so far with the stocks ergonomics, especially like the longer forend. Will post some pictures when I get it back.
