I have an older Rem 700 PSS that I bought back in 94. It has the H & S Precision stock. I want a detachable mag system. I have done a lot of research on all the different brands,(Badger, Seekins, PT&D, Wyatt s, H&S, Surgeon, etc). I would love a drop in that uses AI mags, but they all seem to require a vague amount of "fitting". And I don't want to attempt my own "Dremel" in letting on a stock with an aluminum V Block.

I also don't want to spend $300 on the metal, plus $75 for the in letting and then another $80 on a 10 rd mag.

If I have Badger inlet my stock for $75, will a bottom like the PT&D fit? Or will only a Badger M5 fit?

Basically what are my option for this stock ?

Or should I just suck it up and pony up the money?

Your best, cheapest option is to have GAP or Badger inlet the stock for $75 and use the PTG DBM system. The PTG Stealth DBM has the same inlet/footprint as the Badger M5 so it will work. I had GAP inlet my B&C M40-style stock for the PTG and the fit was perfect, well worth the $75 plus shipping.

Thanks Trigger Monkey. that's what I needed to hear. I'm sure the M5 and the Surgeon are great, but I cannot justify the Money when all I need is good, and the PT&D unit looks like it will perform on Par and provide me with a long service life.at half the cost. And allows me to enjoy a detachable magazine system that lets me afford to shoot the rifle as well... Reloading supplies have not gotten cheaper.... :)
