I am new to the site and would like some suggestions concerning a custom build I am doing. It is a 6.5PRC Bighorn SR3 action, a wyatt extended mag, trigger tech trigger, a Krieger # 0 featherweight 22inch barrel. I need some stock recommendations. preferably one that I can buy that would not requiring additional inletting Thanks

yes I talked to gunwerks but was told by a gunbuilder that the Clymer I was looking at was "a club" so now im confused

Weird, can he be more specific? I rather like the ones I’ve ordered. They ain’t cheap, but when you consider they have a mini chassis in them and need no bedding or pillars, the price lines up a little more.

does anyone know anything about AG composites

I have one of the first Adjustable-cheek Chalk Branch stocks they made. Minor fitting required for a Nucleus - ejection port and such, and bottom metal depth - but otherwise no issues. It’s comfortable and reasonably lightweight.

The three lightest adjustable cheek options that I’ve found, if you care about that, are:
  1. All-Composites A5 - 24oz, $2050
  2. XLR Element V3 Mag/CF - 28oz, $1035
  3. AG Composites adjustables - 40oz (44oz with bottom metal), $1000 with bottom metal
As far as I can tell, Gunwerks doesn’t sell just their stocks anymore. If you don’t care about adjustable cheek you can knock off 8oz from the All-Composites and 9oz from the AG. You also get things like the AG Privateer at 24oz ($580 before bottom metal) and the Proof Hunter at 20oz ($800 before bottom metal).

The do still sell stocks. They’ve re-done the entire website, and they’re getting the interactive stock builder set up now. This came up last week so I called one of their reps.

OP, you likely don’t need to send your gun in for fitting. Gunwerks charges $300 for that if I recall. You know the contour already, all you need now is the length of the cylinder portion of the barrel immediately forward of the action.

I have a 22 in featherweight barrel on one of my rifles. In my opinion its too light. After firing only one round you have to let the barrel cool off or you will start to experience significant round dispersion. It takes awhile to confirm your groups. I'm looking at changing out the barrel to a #3 or 3B.
