So for one of my rifles, actually two, im looking at a new trigger. Ive always used the traditional curved trigger design and dont have any experience with straight triggers.

What are advantages or disadvantages of the straight design and does it really matter or is it just a learning curve and time with trigger that matters.

I had a Timeny Benchrest in a Remy 700 and I liked it especially the adjustability of the position. I don't know if there was an advantage over a curved trigger but you could run it extremely light, like 4oz. At that weight curve or straight didn't matter because you couldn't feel it :)

I guess mentally I like and prefer a curved trigger. I like the concept of the trigger almost forcing my finger to the same spot on the trigger. I’ve shot some flat triggers before that felt quite pleasant, but was almost feeling like I wasn’t hitting the trigger in the same spot. Probably more of a forced mind fuck, but that’s how I solve it lol.

Supposedly on a straight you can make it seem lighter when you pull low on it than when you pull high which, it’s a lever, of course it does but I like a curved. It just feels more natural to me. That said the only straight I’ve used is two stage ar triggers so they weren’t exactly made for precision. But I’ve always been a curved single stage guy and I don’t see that changing. I even prefer a thinner curved. It feels like it not only naturally references it up and down on the trigger but left and right as well. Just a smaller contact area.

I think it's all pretty meaningless, but if I'm going to use a straight trigger, I prefer one with a little crook near the end, like the trigger on the Fix. Totally flat and straight does not help me.

I have straight triggers on several of my rifles and really like them. If I was building a new gun I would include a straight trigger. I just like the straight feel and look.

I have straight blade triggers in almost all my guns. I prefer the feel over a curved blade and I think that my pull is more consistent. But I've been using them for over a decade at this point so it's tough to gauge how much it helps if at all.

Add me to the list of guys running a flat TT Special and I really like it. The little bump at the bottom lets me index my finger the same every time. Just ordered another for my backup gun so they'd both be the same.

Use the trigger that makes you feel best about life.

In the worlds of Smallbore, 300m Prone, and 10m Air---which have the highest requirements of trigger control of any precision shooting discipline---button-type, wire, and even serrated square trigger "blades" have been in common use, but there are still a lot of really elite shooters using nothing but a curved blade and a lot of repetitions.

    So whatever.

I use several types, and I can't shoot them all pretty GD well until it gets north of 6 pounds total pull weight.
