Rifle Scopes Strike eagle 1x8 vs Burris RT6

Looking to swap out my Eotech for a nice LPV scope in the 1-6 to 1-8 range

This is going on a standard ar15 platform used for range time and maybe some light duty varmint hunting in the 50-300 yard range.

I like the idea of the extra power on the strike eagle but does the Burris have better glass?

I was able to find the Vortex for 300 with a mount and the Burris for 350 with a mount as well so pricing is fairly close.

Appreciate any help you can give.

RT6, definitely.

Under $500 it's a good value. Under $400, it's the best option on the market.

The RT6 is my favorite 1-x scope regardless of price. Good balance of glass quality, eyebox, size, weight. The low price is a nice bonus.

Have both. RT-6 performs better, but the Strike Eagle reticle lines up nicely with the drops on one of my uppers.

I havent heard of anyone breaking yet.

On the flipside, the SE has a bad reputation in the durability department. I've seen posts from shooting schools that run Carbine classes that says dont bring one to their class.

Is the Rt6 more durable?

Picked up a used RT-6 and promptly dropped it on a concrete floor. Objective tube is noticeably dented but she tracks and illuminates just fine. Probably won't bother with a warranty claim on it as there is no functional issue.

I'm a vortex lover but not a huge fan of the strike eagle. I'd go with the Rt6 if u cant get a viper
