I just received my Strike Without Warning TMB tuner brake and I’m guessing the Proof stainless prefits aren’t the 5/8-24 UNEF 3A threads. I took my Hellfire Match off and started to screw the TMB on but it goes on two revolutions and stops. I obviously don’t want to force it as to not ruin the barrel or the TMB. Just wondering if anyone else had experienced this and if so what did you do?

The same happened to me on a NEW , never fired Rainier 6.5 Ultramatch barrel. I did have a flash hider on it. So I tested the TMB on a Wilson Combat barrel, it went in super smoothly. I tried once again on the Rainier barrel, but I cleaned the threads really well with nylon brush. The TMB went in all the way until it bottomed out.

Yea I just put my Hellfire Match back on because I have a match Saturday. I tried the TMB on my custom built 6BR and it screwed on it fine but won’t work on it without machining because it’s a straight taper.

1.05 inches in diameter is the max, per website.
Yea I bought it for my Proof Competition Contour. I was just threading the brake without the tuner on my BR to see if it screwed on it with no issues. You actually can have a straight contour barrel machined with their provided print And they work great. A buddy of mine has a few being done right now to fit the TMB on his straight tapers.

Doesn't surprise me proof runs all their tooling too long in the name of volume/profits before checking with gauges.

Good info, I'm sending the template to my gunsmith. I have a Bartlein straight taper being worked on.

I'll send over the blueprint

Am on the same boat as @Gettin'By am considering one but am also using Proof comp contour. so it seems like they do work? is it a thread issue or is the contour too thick for the tuner?
