I started building a 6.5mm grendel rifle a few wekks ago, and while I was able to get the lower assembled myself without a problem, I dont really feel confident assembling the upper on my own. Im using a side charging upper, so the only thing to assemble is the barrel and handguard to the receiver. I chose all the best components so far to build this rifle, and im afraid to put it together on my own because with my lack of experience Im afraid of hurting anything or building it wrong and having a head ache later trying to get it right.
Whats done:
-Lower assembled and working perfectly
-BCG and charging handle installed in stripped upper
What needs done:
-barrel fit to receiver and installed
-correct bolt installed into the BCG
-gas key staked
-hand guard lined up and torqued properly
-gas block and gas tube fit and installed
-headspaced checked and all checkpoints performed.
Questions:
1.) What barrel do you all recommend now that Sabre has gone under?
2.) Who should i send all the parts to to have them assembled and all the work done to my rifle upper?
3.) How much am i looking at spending on having the upper assembled?
4.) Are the AA magazines the only ones to go with or is there another company that makes good reliable, tough 10 round magazines?
