I figured this wasn't quite tactical enough to go to the equipment section.
I am looking at picking up a new netbook for school and field use, and I was wondering if anyone has found a sturdy netbook in the 300-400 dollar range. I have a desktop replacement for working or video editing so I don't need the netbook to be extremely fast.
Ive seen the "rugged" ones that are for kids and I'm not impressed. I might get a refurbished HP 5101 (aluminum case/magnesium frame) but they come with xp or vista, and I want windows 7.
Im not planning on beating it up but I would like to use it for running ballistics programs at the range or in the desert, so good battery life is important, maybe like 6+ hours.
Any recommendations? Ive had good luck with Toshiba but I'm looking to see what else is out there.
