Suppressors Suggest a lawyer to write up a trust?

Re: Suggest a lawyer to write up a trust?

Randall Baad in Islamorada FL. He did mine in about 36 hours and only charges $250. He specializes in NFA Trusts. I haven't heard of anyone cheaper.

I was a bit nervous with using one of those. My class 3 dealer said he had a couple legal zoom rejections from ATF. I wanted to use one, but just 250 for the piece of mind was worth it to me, but if Quicken will do the trick by all means go for it.

love how people go cheap on the lawyer. Willing to risk prison and $1000s in legal fees if the old quicken trust thing goes sour with the ATF.

My guess is one of these days someone is going to take over there at the NFA that knows a thing about trust law and they gonna raise hell for all these paper napkin trusts.

Re: Suggest a lawyer to write up a trust?

as far as i can tell, there is one paragraph in these trusts that states that it will not be used by a person that is not normally eligible thru normal channels to own these items in order to do so. that seems to be the only NFA specific language in the trust that was given to me by a member on this site that he had done for him.

as far as cheap, why pay someone for something thats available thru quicken? if in fact the only addition is that paragraph to the trust, it seems like a "cottage industry" bordering on a good ol' boys network in the legal system. no matter what the source is, everyone should have a trust lawyer at least look over the trust to make sure it meets your states requirements.

myself, if i had gone to a lawyer, id share my trust with everyone just to help out fellow shooters. i will have one review the free trust i have made available via a member here. but i have shared that, just as he volunteered to allow me his copy to redact and reformat for everybody to use.

Good info with the lawyer to look over instead of write. Could be a smart way for me to go with my next one.

There is Kevin Thomason out of Oakland, CA. I don't know what his rates are but I personally know the guy and he's a great individual and a good lawyer from what I know, plus he puts a lot of effort into our 2A fight and works closely with SAF and Calguns Foundation.
