I'm interested in accuracy improvements or decline with different suppressors and attachment types. I've seen many people on here talk about QD designs not being as accurate as screw on styles.

I thought it might be interesting to see groups unsuppressed and suppressed from the same rifle with different suppressors and attachments.

I shot the following 5 round groups today with my DTA Covert 260 Rem and AAC Titan Ti QD suppressor. The larger group was unsuppressed and the smaller group was suppressed. I felt like the groups were shot with approximately the same attention to form as I wasn't really trying with any of the groups today, I was check standard deviation on my handloads and felt like it was shooting pretty well.

These are only 100 yard groups but still show a distinct improvement in accuracy. I'd really like to see what other people are experiencing with their rifles.

Oh yeah, the point of aim on the smaller suppressed group was the point of the line to the left of it and the point of aim on the larger group was center black. It's not zeroed on the 260 as it is zeroed on my 16" 308Win and 16" 338LM.

I dont know what is more impressive, the group that you shot with the can, or that whole rifle set up......either way it looks like a definate shooter.

"What is the Diameter of your barrel?"

It's 1.25 at the barrel extension then it drops down to about an 1.0" at the lands and tapers to .85" at the muzzle.

"I have never had a change in accuracy. POI shift, yes."

Interesting, I would consider it possible that it is more me than the suppressor but according to AAC it will increase accuracy and it does seam to with all my barrels.

So far all 3 of my 223's shoot better groups with the Surefire FA556-212B.suppressor.POI does shift but it repeatable. Velocity also increased slightly.
Screw on SSK on my whisper hasn't been checked for on/off accuracy comparison. I have found that it tends to loosen up after 7-10 shots depending on whether shooting subs or supersonics.

Re: Suppressed Accuracy with/without pics

Accuracy has always stayed the same for me. Just experience w/ 223 though. Stellar looking barrel btw!

Re: Suppressed Accuracy with/without pics

Suppressors that are solidly mounted typically increase accuracy.

That probably relates to two things primarily -
1 gas is separated from the bullet flight path earlier
2 the weight of the suppressor can stabilize barrel vibrations as well as increase the stability of the platform.

In your case it seems like the barrel might like the extra stabilizing weight to dampen vibrations.

Beautiful rifle and excellent shooting-

Re: Suppressed Accuracy with/without pics

That fluted barrel is absolutely sick. Can we see more up close pics of that and the rifle? And who did the barrel work?

And I've always felt that I shoot better suppressed simply due to the fact that recoil management is better and I can do a better follow through (yea, yea, I know...with proper technique one should be able to handle any caliber just fine...blah blah..)
