Looking for feed back on what you experienced regarding the impact adding a suppressor to your bolt gun had on it's accuracy.

I'd like to obtain enough feedback to establish which way adding a suppressor goes (improved groups vs. degrading groups).

Obviously, maybe not so obvious, there will be an improvement in "shootability" due to decreased sensory input with regard to muzzle blast and recoil which, one would think, improve the "shooters" consistency. Although, I'm more interested in firsthand "log book" feedback post suppressor info.

The gun my incoming AAC Cyclone (thread mount) is going on is a known 0.7 MOA gun (factory LTR, 20" tube, .308).

I'm familiar with suppressors and shoot them fairly often albeit on SMGs. I understand there will likely be a POI change.

Thanks fellas!

Re: Suppressor Effect on Accuracy?

To be short, a suppressor should have no ill effects on repeatability. A POI shift due to the different rifle harmonics is normal and acceptable as long as it's repeatable. Group size should not degrade, it's somewhat common to see group sizes shrink some. This is usually attributed to the shooter, not the suppressor.

One of the best sources I can give you for suppressor traits with high precision rifles is Tom Sarver of Thunder Valley Precision. He's an SOT2 as well as having experience with them.

Re: Suppressor Effect on Accuracy?

I've not gained or lost accuracy. All of my rifles shoot the same groups with my can. I shoot an AAC 7.62 SD which is a quick detach can. Repeatable poi shift (all vertical).

Re: Suppressor Effect on Accuracy?

My Shark has no POI change, it's been on bolt guns, AR10, and AR15s, my rifle to me feels like it kicks more with the can on v Tubb Brake, accuracy is the same can on or off, I plan on checking speeds to see if I have a speed increase with the can on.

The recoil is deffinately better with an effective brake.

I've seen (on average) a speed increase of 60 fps.

IMO, the lack of muzzle blast makes up for the less effective recoil reduction.
