I know it is illegal, but I'd very much like to start making a push to legalize it in Georgia. I'm so addicted to shooting suppressed that I really do not like taking the can off my gun during deer season. Who would be the best person for my fellow GA friends and I to write letters advocating for this change? Is this a DNR or a state legislature issue? Thanks!

Re: Suppressors for hunting in Georgia

My suggestion for such an action would be for you to contact some of the people at AAC. Because they are just outside ATL and also because they care very much about individual rights to use suppressors for all purposes. Also if you go down this road with serious intent, it may be worth while to try and gather all the legal information on some of the European countries that require suppressors use for hunting. I'm guessing the mandatory use has something to do with noise pollution/disruption and permanent hearing damage. Hell, while I'm playing good idea fairy you can look in the hunting section hear and see some SH members from other countries, the most recent one that comes to mind is some guy in Ireland that shoots some crazy Japanese devil deer creatures. These OCONUS members may just be willing to impart some of their local laws and regulation to aid in your effort. Hope this helps.

Contact Dr./Congressman Broun

Here he is with Bookhound.

I have met Broun and his family a few times and feel they would support the effort.
