Avoid like an STD!

They are like boat anchors on the front of your weapon.

Get a VFG and a SF G2 in an offset mount and save becoup bucks! If you are hell bent on spending some serious denairo, get the new SF mini-scout light (1x123a battery and it's 120 lumen).

I have had 2 of the M900 series and always seem to end up trading them for something else i need more. That being said I do like them on a patrol style rifle. They are nice but heavy. I would not say they are worth $400-$500 that they sell for new but you can find a good used one for $200-$300. Thats just my .02 worth. Hope it helps

I have the M910A and it is well worth the money . I used it to replace a surefire that was on a DD mount with the pressure pad mounted on a rail mount vert.grip. The M910A is so much brighter ,cleaner(no wires dangling) and the nav. lights are very useful.I run the smaller bulb to get more runtime and they will blind antbody down range I know the 225 bulb that comes with it would be even better. I am going to get the red filter for hunting hogs.

They were great around six or seven years ago. I ran one back in OIF III, but these days they've been completely eclipsed by smaller, more compact and versatile setups. These days I'd just go with an X300 and short vertical grip. Comparatively the M900 is just too bulky and heavy, though the small secondary LED lights are a nice touch when you want to illuminate something close-up discreetly (ie a lock before breaching).

I kind of like a little weight out front on my 16" rigs like the way it balances but I'm not a small guy. to each his own.
