So sadly I don't think I am going to spend time/money right now to try and get a suppressor but I am planning on threading my .260 Rem and putting a Surefire adapter on it as I have been happy with its performance on my 18" MATEN 308. I have a few questions about the process. Not that the .260 is killing me in recoil but I LOVE shooting that rig and I wouldn't mind a little less muzzle flip if I could do it.
1. I have an M40 Contour on the Schneider barrel I have on the rifle, so do I need to have the barrel cut back in order to make a gap because the adapter is much smaller contour and is suited better for the .750 gas gun barrels ? I don't plan on having really ever using the device as an adapter just as a muzzle brake and I like the look as a bonus?
2. Would I be better off using a .30 cal brake or the 6.8 brake both have 5/8-24 thread and both would be fine for 6.5, which would do a better job of braking recoil.

Let me know, thanks guys.
