I gave my dealer the money to get me the first 762 RC he gets in. If I remember right he told me a couple months he should get them in.

LOL...good luck with that. I did the same when they "released" the 22s can and have been waiting for it since April of 2011. At least it made it to the surefire products catalog this year.

The SOCOM suppressors are shipping now unlike the .22 suppressors. I am waiting for the 22 cans as well and I feel your pain.

Do you guys know if the current muzzle breaks will handle these new cans or is there better muzzle break designs coming down that will be optimized for the new version?

Last I checked Surefire didn't even have the 22 suppressors on their website. They were at SHOT this year and they looked nice, but there are a lot of other good options when it comes to a quality .22 suppressor.

As of right now they are on hold. They might still be coming out sometime but there is not a date so as of right now no.

We are going to have the dealers and distributors ordering soon. We have to get all the corprate stuff done first with the order forms and the system set up to support the system. We are currently building some of the SOCOM series suppressors so that is not a issue. The .22’s being made of AL and SS is those machines are tied up cutting parts for the illumination side. We have machines that cut different material due to the tolling we have invested for different machines. I need time on those CNC’s to get the .22 launched.

Kanigit...yes the SOCOM series suppressor are able to step down to smaller bore adapters like they are currently able to do. The RC stands for "Rifle Carbine" that was part of the language used for the SOCOM solicitation.

lj...We are about ready to take orders from the distributors. Pricing should be in the system this week. Once that is done orders can be placed. Still have dealer sheets and other market pieces to get out but orders can go in soon and that is what matters.

THinkin about a SBR 14.5" in 556.
300blackout 12.5" subs and supers?

The baffles are made out of the same high temp alloy as the other suppressors in our lineup. The 556 SOCOM is very similar to the FA556-212 and the 762SOCOM is very similar to the FA762K. The real difference is the mounting system, thicker blast baffle, lower backpressure on the 556 and the endcap design to reduce flash signature.

Both of these are endmount suppressors and we will be making a brake in 5/8X24 for the 762 suppressor. The 556SOCOM is being used on the 10.5 MK18 so you will have no issues with it on a 14.5 gun because SOCOM is also using it on the M4. You will be fine using the 762SOCOM on that blackout.

Nice. Garin from SF told me they will release a sr25 brake for the new SOCOM line after they make enough of the more common threaded ones. I am ordering the 762 SOCOM can. Will be a good wait, but will be worth it. Love your setup btw

If so, as of which model was the change made?

No we still use the same welds that we have always used. That advertisement is hilarious to me because we won the largest suppressor contract in US military history even though supposedly if you listen to everything you read our suppressor will just fall apart if you used it. Surprising to me because I have 10's of thousands of rounds through mine and I have talked to customers of mine that have an estimated 100K plus rounds through their suppressors that they were issued. So I guess don't believe everything you read. We use spot welds for a reason and it isn't because it is cheaper to do because its not.

Update: Orders are coming in and they are building the entire SOCOM series suppressor with the exception of the SOCOM556-MONSTER and SOCOM556-MINI MONSTER (awaiting front plates). 1/2-28 and 5/8-24 flash hiders are at coating and the muzzle brakes for the same threads are being programed on the CNC's. Plans are to have all existing orders build by Sept 7th and then build back stock before going back on varies contract orders.

so the muzzle breaks will be available for civilian purchase soon? reason i ask is im about to have a custom rifle built and im interested in this break and the suppressor.

The muzzle brakes will be available for civilian purchase but I don't know how soon. If you are having a gun built you could always have it threaded 5/8X24 or 1/2X28 and then just put a thread cover on it until you get your brake.

I'm concerned about clearance because of the DD mk18 ris rail and the 10.3" barrel.

Will this new suppressor work with that setup? Will the mount provide enough clearance?

Yes it will. That is actually the suppressor getting issued to SOCOM for the MK18 and M4 currently. My boss is running that setup on his MK18 and when I get my MK18 hopefully this month I will be running that exact setup as well. It will also work on LWRC's with their 10.5 inch barrels and the HK416 with the 10.4 inch barrel.

The 762 SOCOM is a improvement over the 762K. We started by changing the mounts. The new mounts are a better design and use what I refer to as a tongue and groove design. There is a groove inside the suppressor that the tongue on the adaptor mates up to. What this means is not more pins inside the suppressor and the carbon does not build up around this contact point like it would on the older style.

The core is totally changed as well. Same materials that made our suppressors as durable as they have been for years but a thicker blast baffle which will give you an even longer life than the Gen3's. That being said our suppressors do have lifetime warranties so do not be alarmed if you have an older one. I have seen our gen2 suppressors with close to 100K rounds through them and going strong and I have even heard from a friend of his going even longer.

Also we tweaked the endcap to provide even better flash reduction. For the average civilian shooter this doesn't mean much but it was a huge undertaking and for guys that hunt at night or shoot at night this is a huge plus in my opinion. I have witnessed both the gen 3 suppressors and SOCOM suppressors at night and let me say as impressed as I was with the Gen3's the SOCOM made me take a step back. Over all the SOCOM is a better suppressor and I would recommend it over the 762K because it is an improved design.

Garin might have more techical info he can pass along but this is just my opinion from a guy that has carried suppressors down range and shoots a lot with these in from of military customers.

Materials: The same but design has changed.

The blast baffle is not drilled like on the 556 SOCOM.

Weight is about the same it might be a little bit different on a postal scale but right there at 19 ounces.

Suppression about the same to me with my ear but I have not run any sound data on them. Garin I believe has but I am not sure.

These have been shipping to the military but if you are asking if they are shipping to dealers that is a Garin question because I do not work out of the office anymore and he handles a lot of the dealer stuff.

I just got the ball rolling on a SOCOM 556 last week. I know the dealer SAW Inc. in Dallas area still has one FDE 556 can in stock. He had 3, 2 FDE and 1 black, but now just the one FDE. They do not have any 762s as of yet.

I was at the suppressor shoot in Dallas back in April where these 2 cans were first shown and have wanted one of each since then. I got a great description by one of the Surefire guys about all the new cool features and was sold!

All of the SOCOM suppressors are end mount designs. They are not meant to be a replacement for the 762SS but with the advancements that the SOCOM line has over the 762SS I honestly see no reason to go with the 762SS unless you already have the adapters or you like the look of it better.

The 762K cannot be changed to a SOCOM mounting system. The SOCOM suppressors are shipping now so if you want just call around and someone might have one in stock.

My 556-RC is sitting at my dealer and the forms went out to NFA yesterday. It's going to be a long 6 or 7 months but I'm planning to make my dealer bring it to me occasionally so I can play with it until the stamp shows up.

Here's my question.
I have a new colt 14.5" barrel. The surefire website says the new SOCOM can flash hider mounts are 2.75" oal.
I think the new flash hider mount sleeves over the barrel a bit, but can this mount be permanently attached to make a 14.5" tube <16?"
Just wondering if anyone has done this?
