I have a AR10 in .243.

I also have a 300WM bolt gun.

I’m looking at the SureFire RC2 762 can to pull double duty on both.

My 243 is a predator rig and my question is, has anyone used this can with a 243 semi gun and any other thoughts, observations.

Thanks in advance

For the love of God please do not spend the extra cash on the RC. Get the 300SPS and call it a day. It is much quieter and runs just as well on a gas gun. The only thing you're supposedly missing out on is first round flash reduction.

I shot a RC on a AI .308, mk18, and a scar 17. I now use a 300sps on several 5.56 LMt's, a colt 6920, a .260 and .308 AI, and a big bore LMT.

Save the cash. For sure.

Any reason you're set on the Surefire? They're well know to not be the best at reducing decibels and they're some of the most expensive. Most all that have them say to only buy them if you're doing a clone build.

It’s in my preference to run a spec unit. Besides being “louder” (not sure the human ear can distinguish a lot of the decibal difference anyway in comparing to most) The SureFire does run cleaner with less gas blowback.

Again this is what I’ve read and have saw/told from others

The ear can definitely detect 6-7db difference. Not sure about the running cleaner. It's common knowledge for surefire cans to carbon lock and need to be shot off. Just sayin, but it's your money and get what you want

lol...it is? I own over a dozen SF cans from the original desings up through the current SOCOMs and Ryders and I have never -- not even once -- had to shoot one off after countless rounds through them. Be careful of the "common knowlege" you pick up from the errornet.

I hear you 100% lol. A lot of people share things that they see or hear and not what they actually know for sure. I did my time and have used surefire on multiple deployments. I appreciate your response NAS78
