Hey Chucky, I know your a busy cat. Were you able to release any of the new Surefire info yet, (cans, led weapon light upgrades, etc). Thanks again for all that you do!!!. Jeff.

Re: Surefire updates-Chucky

Here is some of the stuff I remember off the top of my head.

New line of titanium cans. I don't have pricing for them but they are light. They will give you the same sound suppression as there high temp alloy version but they are much lighter. We are currently testing them to see how much abuse they will take before you can cause harm to one.

The 338 can is 12oz.
The 762K in titanium is around 10oz.
The Mini-T is 8 oz.

We are going to make a lot of our weapon lights led white/ir. You are looking at 150 lumens of white light and by pulling the slip ring on the head and twising it will go to IR. No more filters and they easily illuminate out past 100yards.

We are making the M3LT and the same light in a strobe function. These are going to be 2 stage 70lumens on low and 400 lumens on high. I am getting one sent to me right now to test and we are expecting them in the next month or two.

The 6PL and G2L are being upgraded so it is not just a drop in led. This means they are going to get dialed up to 120 lumens compared to the 80lumens that the drop in gives you.

We are coming out with 1 maybe 2 new clickie pens and a new knife. The knife is just a knife and has aluminium on one side of the handle and the other is titanium.

We have a new weaponlight the 720v. This is white light/ir and also has a few different brightness settings as well as a strobe function.

That's all I remember off the top of my head.

What's the status on the Invictus? A couple guys on the team have been holding off buying something in hopes that it will be released soon. Our dealer told us Fall of '08...then it went to fall of '09...and still waiting. Any hints?\

M3LT for me! I've been badgering Kevin at Brightflashlights.com about that one for...a year or so, now? Not looking forward to the price, but a Turbo head LED - fantastic.

How is the test going, & any availability or price range update ?

Re: Surefire updates-Chucky

The testing went very well. I was able to light up a treeline at 150yards easily. We are expecting them to ship in May and the price is going to be $450.

Re: Surefire updates-Chucky

I did the testing on the new 6P as well and really liked it. They upped the lumens to 120 and it is a dedicated led not a drop in. I don't like it as much as the M3LT but it was a lot brighter but still had a really good runtime.

Re: Surefire updates-Chucky

good to hear. Is the 6p defender included in the new update models? and when are the upgraded models gonna be hitting the streets?

Re: Surefire updates-Chucky

I believe all the handhelds using the P60L's are going to upgraded to the dedicated led head. I tested the new 6P last month so they should be out in the next month or two.

I can call the product manager on Monday and give you a better timeframe.

Re: Surefire updates-Chucky

I would gladly accept and give a very detailed report on the M3LT running it against my 700 lumen Olight M30...

Oh ya... If the Surefire proves a far superior light... I'll pay for it...LOL

Re: Surefire updates-Chucky

Apollo11,

I talked to the product manager and he is saying the beginning of June for the updated 6PL and G2L and that we will be selling the head seperately at the same time if someone just wants to buy that by itself.

Chuck, how does the range of the Vampire compare to this when in IR mode?

Re: Surefire updates-Chucky

The V series of lights will illuminate well past 100 yards in the IR setting. In the white light setting they are putting out 150 lumens so they can throw a beam just as far as the scoutlight.
