Night Vision Surefire XVL2

I had one and ran it through a couple of classes. Had to get a custom Kydex holster made for it because it’s so unusual/blocky. I feel like it’s trying to be all things to all people and compete with the Steiner DBAL PL (which I also have).

It didn’t really work for me, so I moved it off to a LEO buddy who has it on his HD gun.

Anyone have any experience with this? I like the idea of a 3 in 1 solution
It’s a 4 in 1 solution. White light, visible laser, IR light, IR laser.
Are you mounting it on a handgun or rifle?

I found the mode adjustment wheel to be a royal pain the in the butt to use. I understand that it has to be low profile to fit in holsters, but it was the main reason I sold mine.

Safariland makes a duty/tactical holster for it. I use it on my traveling carbine (mounted at 12 O'clock) and it works fine with certain limitations (It's not a MAWL). I figure if I would ever have to use it, the range will under 100 yards. The IR laser works fine at this range, the IR illuminator is good for about 50 yards, green laser works fine for what it is. The visible illuminator is only good for about 25 yards but I have a Modlite PH whatever that works for longer range and rides right next to the XVL2 IRC. It's light, fairly inexpensive and works for my needs.
