Surgeon 591/R Action Worth Nowadays?

What's a Surgeon 591/R action worth nowadays? Given that the new deviants exist now, is there still a big market for the Surgeon actions?

Long to short is that they bring 1800-2200 in new unused cond. I have sold them in that range. Few are listed. Also, the market for all the LR shooting stuff seems soft right now. No idea why. It will be hard to find one in that range for sale and hard to sell if you have it I would guess. Others will no doubt have differing opinions.

Its name only that brings them that much. I think your going to start seeing that drop like a rock over the next year as people get fed up with trying to get the surgeons and just move on to Defiance, Still, Bighorn, etc.

Not to derail the thread, but are there any actions that offer all of the features of the Surgeon. I do not know of any. One that is a big deal to me is the Rem extractor. One piece bolt and integral top rail with 20 MOA built in? Just curious.

That sounds like the Defiance Deviant?

I believe the Deviant runs a mini m16 extractor.

From what I know, the only Rem based action with integral lug and rail that runs a Rem extractor is the Surgeon.

I just picked up a used 591 for $1700, and felt lucky to have it. They are getting scarce.

I'd agree, but some are positive they're prone to explode in your face if another "inferior extractor" is used.
