SW AMMO UPDATE THREAD

I generally won't post being upset with someone online but when emails are not returned and the phones are not answered there isn't much choice. I made an order #2436 12-19-12 for a case run n gun 5.56 and some 45acp. I am not new to SWAmmo and typically expect it to take a while. At 3.5 months out I inquired about my order and was told "shipping by next week". I have subsequently been told the same thing 3 times now....the last time being 3 weeks ago. I am fine with some extended wait though 5 months is getting close to ridiculous. I am not fine with basically being lied to every time I have been fortunate enough to actually get anybody to answer the phone. If you say it's going out in a week then do it. If you tell me 2 more months well fine but tell me the truth and back it up. Just to be clear, I am not the guy that bugs them every day. I didn't even inquire about the order until it was 3.5 months old and have only spoken to them 3 times....same result each time. There is no way you guys at SW remotely expected to send out my order in a week as I was told those 3 times and no way to label it anything but being dishonest with me. I'll be happy when I finally get the order whenever that will be but as much as I like the product and the guys at SW the fact is I will probably never take part in this circus again.
 
I placed order on 4/24/2013 for 400 rounds of 308 175smk run n gun. Was told it was in stock and would ship in 2 weeks tops. I only ordered it cuz I was being lazy and didn't want to reload but guess I will start back. I can't imagine how busy they are and appreciate the great price I am just like everyone else and hate the wait :)
 
I grabbed 5 boxes of the 260 to use with my new Rock Creek Remage Barrel, looking forward to shooting this caliber, hope it lives up to its net rep. I shot out all the 308 you guys sent me in the last few weeks, a bit over a thousand rounds, will be sending some more brass in for reloads, also looking for the order I put in to fill the gap. Your reloads are some good shooting rounds, as good as the new stuff I got from you. Only question I have is when is the 300 WM coming back on line, I have a Criterion Bull Barrel coming from Northland in a month or two, if you don't have any brass can you reload some Norma that I have on hand.

Same for me ordred placed over 6 months ago, credit card charged then, no response to PM, email, or phone. I guess I have to dispute the credit card charge to get a response. Please don't tell me how busy they are or to give them a break. He can post weekly about what's in stock and on the way, but will not respond to my PM or email nor answer the phone.

These guys are swamped. put in an order Jan didnt get it till almost 2 months later but no biggie. Got some quality custom reloads dutting peak ammo and gun buying craze. So how long ya think it will take if I ordered 1000 rounds of the remanufactured 77SKMs . PM me pls.

Shipping a lot of these orders today, yours is in there to ship today or tomorrow. I had a few people who did order a shit ton of these so it slows down the process shipping a bit when your days allotment goes to 5 people.

We have been getting some great reviews about this product though, it is a temp product, unless I get the call that I can get more.

I have about 20,000 pieces of brass left for it.

Shipping a lot of these orders today, yours is in there to ship today or tomorrow. I had a few people who did order a shit ton of these so it slows down the process shipping a bit when your days allotment goes to 5 people.

We have been getting some great reviews about this product though, it is a temp product, unless I get the call that I can get more.

I have about 20,000 pieces of brass left for it.

These guys are swamped. put in an order Jan didnt get it till almost 2 months later but no biggie. Got some quality custom reloads dutting peak ammo and gun buying craze. So how long ya think it will take if I ordered 1000 rounds of the remanufactured 77SKMs . PM me pls.

I suck at time lines, but 2 months is a good lead time. Could be sooner, but I miss more deadlines than I make.

Just placed another order for more run-n-gun. Probably good timing since I only have one other open order right now and that is for the SW head-stamped brass.

BTW, I really hope that you get that SW brass in soon since I am anxious to try that load out. I realize that the brass is the big holdup on that one and appreciate the situation you find yourself in, having accepted the orders but the brass supplier not coming through like you expected.

Zach, order #2143 was placed 11/8/2012. Over 6 months ago. My credit card was charged $1900 at that time, a portion of that order was shipped about 4 months ago but a large portion of the order was never shipped. I have posted, sent PM's, emailed customer service, and tried calling. I have had no response. What is going on? Why will you not respond? A refund would be fine! How do I get one??? Please do the right thing and respond..
 
Order number 2829 placed in January. Nothing at my door as yet.

2 hours after this post SW ammo phoned and let me know the particular head stamp was the hold up. We changed the order and it should ship next week. Thanks! Can't wait to try this out at Thunder Valley!

And I can even use a different card for it? I just want to make sure I'm not accidentally ordering double what I intend to.
 
For anyone who is wondering, if you didn't get a call about your preorder stuff, you can go order the same thing again (this time it's +shipping) and you will be squared away. I talked to Kristen today.
 
Order 5680 placed 5/17/2013 - Ordered while on deployment - I will update post when my wife gets the shipment. Total cost $600

ETA: Credit card was initially pinged and held funds but that hold has been released and nothing has beencharged to account.

Sent in 600 pieces of .308 brass for reloading with 155 Scenars back in December 2012. Currently waiting for a tracking number. No order number as I sent in the brass with an order form and a check.

Order arrived in 13 June 2013.

260/123 Scenars are ready to go, 5,000 finished up ready to go.

Have a little box issue for blkout and 556. If bulk pack is ok, 300 per box or less, I can get out pretty quick. Those darn styrafoam trays are illusive sometimes.

I received my .260/142 SMK in SW headstamped brass yesterday. Nice lookin' stuff. I'm curious though that the headstamp appears to be "SSA" ie Sierra Sierra Alpha. I would have guessed it would be SWA. Anybody have a guess what SSA would stand for?

I was very patient as I knew the deal. I called once a month ago to get an estimate, and was told 2 weeks.

SW doesn't answer the phone either. I'll likely be charging back at the end of next week. I've purchased from ya'll before, but I won't be recommending you in the future.

EDIT: SW called me after I posted this. They graciously offered to send a refund check, which I unfortunately had to accept as they were still unable to predict with any accuracy when the ammo would be available. I know that they don't have control over significant parts of their supply chain as a small fish, but having to prepay for an order with an indeterminate delivery date just wasn't workable for me.

I wish them the best, and I may still order again if they are ever able to stock ammo again.

I've Ordered from you guys before and been very happy like most people here on the Hide. That being said, you guys HAVE to do something about communicating to customers or you going to lose all the popularity you have gained, and once you lose it it's much more difficult to get back. Even if you have to hire someone at minimum-wage to do nothing but run down orders.

Right now people don't care about how long it's taking to get their order as much as they care that maybe their order has been lost, and/or that you're aware that you are behind on their order. It's better for customers to hear bad news than no news. Just give them news consistently about them, even if its just a biweekly email that's sent out saying you know you are behind and your working on it.

Just some friendly advice from a guy who has multiple small businesses and who wants you to succeed. Demand may not always be as high as it is right now, and if things slow down your going to need loyal customers.
 
I admit I get tunnel vision, there is a lot going on right now. Mike and I had to do something we did not want to do. We sold a 3rd of our business off to get the right stuff to get out of this shipping funk. Plus with the current way ammo is selling, I need money to buy stuff when it is available or I will not get it.

I currently have a shit ton of 308 brass coming. 200,000 pieces with my head stamp on it, 7,455 Winchester brass. Our brass arrives Tuesday according to the tracking. The Winchester brass arrives on Thursday according to the tracking.

Lapua brass I have no clue, it was suppose to be here in December, still no word. I do have 1,000 pieces coming from another sources. I will chip away at the GB orders with Lapua brass.

I have tons of 300 blkout and 556 made, however, the Styrofoam trays are a pain in my ass. Bulk packing is an option if you do not care, email me your order number, I will get it out.

I have had Kristen on the phones the last couple of weeks so we have been down a bit with the phone and emails. I apologize for that, I do not ignore intentional, nor am I trying to steal money like some of the emails have read. If you order with me, you will get ammo.

That's the perfect kind of information I think everyone wants, Zach.
I think, for the most part, everyone understands you guys are in a tough place with components......we couldn't get these components any faster on our own if we wanted to.

Idunnmobile hit it on the head.....even bad news is good news and those who matter will take the news with the right amount of understanding.

Keep rolling that ammo and we will keep buying. Hopefully things will level out for you guys (and the industry as a whole) pretty soon.
