Rifle Scopes Swaro Z5 Reticle

Re: Swaro Z5 Reticle

It seems Swarovski scopes do not have a big crowd of followers here, probably has to do with their marketing strategy, more for hard-core hunters than hunter/sniper-wanna-bees? I have two Swarovsk ZFM 6x42 and love them, but have yet seen another scope from Swarovski specifically designed for military/tactical purpose. With the quality of their scopes, it's a real pitty

Personally, I would go with BR/BRX/BRH models. Wish they would simply tell what these graduations mean in terms of MOA/mil, instead of forcing people to use their website to derive a decal card for each load!

Re: Swaro Z5 Reticle

The BRX reticle is very fine and certainly won't be too big for varmints. Even the BRH is a pretty fine reticle for one that's supposed to be heavy.

I like the Swaro reticles over all the other BDC type reticles out there. Most are somewhere around 2MOA for the first post, 4MOA for the second, 7MOA for the third and 11MOA for the 4th. It can be kind of a pain figuring out your dope.

The Swaro's are graduated in mils with lines every .5 mil and dots every .1mil. So figuring out your dope is as easy as zeroing at 100 yards just like you would with a scope you would dial and making a ballistic chart in mils. This also gets rid of one of the biggest problems with BDC reticles which is the change in ballistics from changes in altitude or temperature. Altitude or temperature changes are as simple as having another ballistic card for those conditions.

If your shooting far enough you need a 5-25X scope you need either turrets you can accurately dial with or a reticle you can accurately hold with I would definently get the BRX.

Re: Swaro Z5 Reticle

i've set up a few rifles just like yours, the brx would be a good choice. the subtensions are fine, too fine for low light hunting, but for varmints in good light it will work perfectly
