Swarovski EL vs SLC binoculars

I sent this question to my Swaro rep and he replied:

"The ELs are going to have Swarovision, which includes field flattener lenses, allowing edge to edge clarity when viewing, as well as longer eye relief to make it easier to get behind the binoculars. The closest focusing distance on the ELs is about 5 ft instead of 10, and the ELs offer a better accessories package.

The critical difference between them is the Swarovision."

OP,

Excellent question. G pretty well covered it. I would add a couple of things.

There is also a WD model which appears equally excellent. Not sure the difference. Once was told that it was a heavy duty marine model but never saw that documented. Modern optic companies, led by Swarovski and a few others have approached perfection so closely that the differences are nearly undetectable to the human eye.

I have had several Swaro binoculars and all were great. I currently use the 10x42 EL Range and it is the best of the lot. Prior to the Swaro's I had B&L, Zeiss and later Leitz/Leica. The Swaor's are a bit better. Estimating I have used 25 binoculars over the last 40 years. I use them nearly daily, year around so this is not a quick peek in the retail store type evaluation.
