So SWFA has their "house brand" rings back in stock. Anyone have any first-hand experience with these. They look identical to Burris XTR rings, are 20 bucks cheaper and come with 1 inch inserts. Not a bad deal...but not worth saving $20 if they don't do the job well. My use would be for a SS 10x42 rear focus (yeah the "cheap" one)

Re: SWFA "House Brand" Rings...any experience?

I've used them to mount my SWFA 3-9x40 for about a year and they have been great, no complaints. Seem like very nice rings for the money, although I have no experience with higher dollar rings.

I have the SS one piece 30mm ring on my Rock Rive LAR-8 with my SS 10X42 (rear focus I don't like bumping knobs on both sides of the rifle!) The rifle combo works it hold an average of .6" at 100

I'm happy

They do look alot like the Burris rings. I'm sure SWFA has someone make the rings for them and I'm wondering if they are made by the same people that make the Burris rings. I doubt that Burris actually manufactures their rings either.

Re: SWFA "House Brand" Rings...any experience?

Just an update. I ordered these and mounted them on my Rem 700. Not bad for the money. The fit and finish leave a bit to be desired. One of the screw holes was a bit off but with a bit of work everything is functioning well.

If I had it to do over again, I'd probably go with the XTR's, but I'm satisfied enough not to trade out the SWFA rings at this point.

Re: SWFA "House Brand" Rings...any experience?

I recently purchased some of these. They seem very robust, but the finish kind of sucks, several rough spots on them. I haven't been able to find much info on them. Hopefully they work fine.

The current image on the Swfa website is not what they look like today.

They are made in the good old "China". I did not like them so I sold them.

I have one of their SSALT mounts. Pretty sturdy and the gun actually landed on the concrete square on the scope turrets... no POI change.

Re: SWFA "House Brand" Rings...any experience?

I have an older set of the Burris rings and a set of the SS rings. The Burris seem to be a slightly higher quality. The SS rings seems to be made of some pretty poor metal. With that said, neither have given me any problems.

Those TMS rings are some really good rings for the money. I have owned the Burris rings, and they were not centered over the receiver. I got rid of them the day after I got them. The SWFA rings that I have held, appear to be just fine. They are centered and looked fine to me.

Of course, the rifle is a tool anyway, so a little bit of a rough finish on a perfectly workable part is fine with me. Shoot away!!

They are made in china. The burris one is to, however, for the AR, the SSALT or burris would be fine. The Swaf rings are not as good as the burris.
