I know, I know...the SS is fixed (well the one I am comparing anyway) and the WOTAC is variable...but, I am looking to compare glass/ruggedness/and tracking-repeatability.

Any other comments/opinions are much appreciated.

Re: SWFA - SS vs. WOTAC

I'd prefer to invest my money in products where there's a real company behind.
And only one of the two choices fits that bill.

Re: SWFA - SS vs. WOTAC

I have two of the new SS here now, and just last week a student had a WOTAC in the class...

No comparison, the SS is well above the WOTAC, that's more like an airsoft knock off, the SS is better than some higher priced scopes on the market.

The WOTAC has plastic turrets and the screws came lose even during a 4 day class... so, take it for what its worth.

Great...that's the kind of thing I'm looking for. Do you know what evolution/generation the WOTAC was? (from what I am reading, they are constantly being updated based largely on feed back from you guys!)

Re: SWFA - SS vs. WOTAC

No clue, it was well below anything I would consider... in fact the markings for the reticle to be correct were also off, we had to map the magnification a bit just so he could hold off correctly and range. But it worked for the student, I think he would have been much better off with something else, even a SS 3-9X...

Re: SWFA - SS vs. WOTAC

I just might happen to know that it was a new Gen 4 WOTAC 4-14X50.
It was about two weeks old and had seen 29 rounds prior to the 4 day class.

Like Frank said, it worked. But I would not take it to a class again.

Frank, thanks for a great class.
